Independent, North Shore hotels

"I’ve been going to St Croix for 12 years and need to advise that if you’re looking for a 5 star luxury hotel / resort; you’re on the wrong island; goto St Thomas. Hotels here are mainly historic / small, which keeps with the island. With that said I loved staying at this hotel. It’s 300 years old; very clean, in the heart of everything, just feet from the restaurants / shops / water. The manager is on site. Being historic, if you stay in the top floors you must walk the stairs. I stayed in a top floor room (3rd story) with a nice ocean view; (yes it took a minute to get hot water but what’s the rush, the water was hot and you’re in a 300 yo hotel). It’s decorated with a lot of historical items and there is a very relaxed covered bar!). This is a perfect hotel for couples who want to relax, come and go as you please. I will staying here the next time I come to St Croix! "

"The staff was helpful from start to finish. Having a washing machine and dryer for free was a nice surprise. The bar was a nice quiet bonus at the end of a busy day! And the location was close to everything, but still a block away on a quiet street."
