"Fantastic historic hotel. Signature scent is fabulous! You feel like you've stepped back in time as soon as you open the door. Quality rooms and furnishings. Beautiful woodwork and wallpapers. Lovely landscaping. A suggestion to the management: replace the printed laminated paper signs telling guests don't do this, don't go here. Have classy signs directing your guests in a positive manner, this way please, enter here, etc. Make them feel welcome rather than like a nuisance. One more suggestion, have the entrances more open, such as the one from the mall near Morton's so your guests don't have to walk through the valet drop-off area. That being said, I cannot wait to return and experience more of this historic hotel. Pictures and words do not do it justice. Plus, one cannot beat the walkable convenience to the Alamo, the mall, and the River Walk. Highly recommend staying here!"
