Amazing place

My stay at Joy Bungalow has been absolutely amazing and wonderful. The beach is private and quiet, the staff is lovely, the food is great, and the room was nice and clean. I give my most heartfelt recommendations to this unspoiled paradise in Koh Jum.

Paradise on Koh Jum!

This was iyr fifth stay at Joy Bungalows since 2012 and we love it! The hospitality of the staff, the bungalow (VIP by the beach), the food at the restaurant, the almost empty 2-km beach beach... This is where we go for a relaxing time! This is our paradise!

Fantastisk strand och härlig strandbar med trevlig kille i baren. För övrigt inget gott betyg, fruktansvärd säng, ingen städning, inga glas på rummet, inga duschartiklar. Tråkig och ohjälpsam man i receptionen. Bytte boende och blev helnöjd.

Der Strandabschnitt ist der schönste von Koh Jum. Liegestühle und Hängematten sind ausreichend vorhanden. Die Anlage liegt mitten im „Dschungel“ Das Essen war lecker.

A resort on paradise island

Koh Jum seems to be under the radar for most folks traveling koh Lanta. Wich is good cause it has stayed a very quiet place. A little tropical paradise. We stayed 3 nights on Joy Bungalows. The cottage was likely their cheapest, basicly a bed with mosqito net. No ac/fan. Still, great value for the money. You sleep basicly in a jungle /forest or by the sea depending wich cottage you get. The sounds are inredible at night time. The dogs and chicken will likely wake you up early. Joy has good restaurant, nice staff, many services availevable trough request, motorbike rental etc. It has all you will need to spend incredible time on their great beach or to use it as a base camp when touring the small island during the day.

Der perfekte Ort für Ruhe und Erholung

Das Joy Bungalow kann man nur lieben. Ggfs ist man am Anfang aber etwas überrascht. So viel ist auf der Insel nicht los und zu Beginn kann man denken, dass es auf Koh Jum nicht schön ist. Aber dann kommt man an den Strand, sieht, dass man ihn fast für sich alleine hat und genießt die Ruhe und Erholung. Die Bungalows sind nett eingerichtet, die Betten sehr bequem. Tatsächlich ist man zu Beginn ggfs. etwas überrascht, wenn man Angst vor Moskitos hat und keine schließenden Fenster an den Zimmer angebracht sind. Aber es hat sich gezeigt, dass wenige Moskitos aktiv sind und das Netz über dem Bett keinem Moskito eine Chance gibt zu stechen. Das Essen ist lecker, der Service sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Immer ein Besuch wert

Starker Termitenbefall und dreckiges Bett

Die Anlage ist an einem ruhigen Strand gelegen und das Personal ist freundlich. Leider sind die Bungalows stark in die Jahre gekommen. Wir hatten das Pech in ein Bungalow mit starkem Termitenbefall zu kommen. Die komplette Innenfront des Bungalows war von Termiten befallen und die Termieten sind überall gekrbbelt und gefolgen, sodass wir leider nicht einmal die Terasse nutzen konnten. Das Bett war zu Beginn sehr dreckig, ist dann nach unserer Beschwerde jedoch nochmal gesäubert worden. Die Termiten haben sie mit einem Giftspray besprüht dass hat aber eher unsere Atemwege gereizt als dass es die Termieten vertrieben hätte. Besonders geärgert hat uns, dass ein anderes Bungalow noch frei gewesen wäre wir aber nur gegen eine deutliche Preiserhöhung dort hätten schlafen dürfen. Deshalb haben wir das Hotel vorzeitig verlassen und sind in eine traumhafte Anlage weiter nördlich gezogen :) Im nachhinein haben wir erfahren dass es wohl ca. 8 stark veraltete Bungalows gibt ( davon haben wir wohl eines erwischt) aber es gibt auch ein paar bessere neuere. Allgemein ist die Anlage jedoch für die Leistungen ( kein Strom, kein Warmwasser, kein Ventilator) im Verhältnis zu anderen Unterkünften auf der Insel überteuert. Wir waren schon oft in Asien mit dem Backpack unterwegs aber sowas haben wir noch nicht erlebt...

Avkoppling

Härlig transfer till ön med färja o longboat med hotellpersonal som hämtade oss direkt från färjan. Gick bra trots tunga resväskor. Bra personal. Lite tråkig meny på restaurangen men finns fler längs stranden. Mysig bungalow med utedusch o hängmatta på altan. Stort minus med alla lösa skällande hundar både natt och dag. Otäckt om man är hundrädd. Billig mat och dryck - allt sattes upp på rummet o betalades vid hemresa. Becksvart vid 21:30 då allt släcktes ner och man fick oljelampa för att hitta hem. Mysigt ändå. Ingen städning och samma handdukar i fyra dagar. Moppe kunde hyras på plats - dock inga hjälmar. Underbart vatten men smutsig strand. Mycket lugnt om man behöver varva ner från vardagen hemma. Fanns inga aktiviteter alls förutom hyra moppe då. Ön åker du runt på några timmar. Endast 2,9 km lång och ca 1-2 km bred. Vi trodde först det var en nudiststrand vid hotellet då många badade nakna men det var det tydligen inte. Rekommenderar starkt joy bungalow för hotels gäster!

Lovely bungalows next to the beach

I loved this place because it is right on the beach. Excellent friendly staff, wonderful food and a relaxing atmosphere. I will be going back next year.

Om man längtar efter att få komma bort från vardagsstressen och bara vara så är detta ett paradis. Stranden är som gjord för långa promenader eller bara ligga i hängmattan och läsa. Dom lagar även riktigt god mat. Tyvärr hade vi otur med att det var sandloppor,säkert olika från säsong till säsong! Rekommenderar detta varmt!

Fantastiskt boende med familjär stämning.

Husen är generellt enkla och nära naturen men mycket gemytligt och familjärt med många stamgäster. Nu (januari 2017) har (de flesta?) bungalowsen fått el med belysning och fläkt. Maten är suverän. Folk vallfärdar från de närliggande resorterna. Aktivitetsnivån är låg och avslappnad. Det perfekta stället för avkoppling, men vill man ha hög standard, waterjet, vattenskidåkning och annat trams ska man söka sig till något annat ställe

Best hotel in koh jum!

The island is rather quiet..so dont expect anything else. Awesome resort with lovely people running it. Definitely the best beach area as well as a lot of the other resorts have rocky beaches, especially at low tide. Beautiful sunsets at the beach. Great food in the restaurant and good chilled old school rock music mostly played :)

Great and friendly staff. Hotel area very well gept but very island style. Beach was nice and clean. Note some of the bungalows have not electricity and are very small. Bathroom is open air so there might be some insects.Food and service was very good.

Entspannung pur!

Saubere und gemütliche Bungalows im Thai-Stil (Deluxe Beach Front) mit halb-offenem Bad und Terrasse mit Sitzgelegenheit und Hängematte. Nichts auszusetzen. Super Strand! Das Personal ist zuvorkommen und freundlich. Die Bungalows haben keinen Strom, dafür bekommt man abends aber eine Lampe. Hier empfiehlt es sich noch zusätzlich eine Taschenlampe mitzunehmen. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen und wir werden wiederkommen!

Meget hyggeligt sted, perfekt til fuldkomnen afslapning lige ned til stranden m. Og så laver de rigtig god mad, især deres curry var vi vilde med. Men er man ikke til primitive levevis, er stedet nok ikke det rigtige. Vi havde nogle super fede dage, men var også lettede over at skulle videre til noget med lidt højere standard efterfølgende. Men til den pris vi gav for stedet, var det perfekt!

Schöne Lage und Strand

Wir hatten einen "De-Lux Bungalow" mit Meerblick. Die Anlage liegt in einem Palmenhain, Strand wunderbar. Die Sauberkeit jedoch eine Katastrophe.Reinigung erfolgt nur beim Ein- und Auscheck, eine gründliche Reinigung vermutlich nur einmal im Jahr. Das Personal ist zwar sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, das Restaurant lecker - aber ich werde dort trotzdem nicht mehr hinfahren.Außerdem ist Koh Jum gerade am Wendepunkt, liegt ja auch auf der "Traveller-Autobahn" zwischen Krabi und Koh Lanta, es gibt sogar Leute die mit Rollkoffer anreisen (sehr "praktisch" beim Umstieg von der Fähre auf das Longtailboot und durch den Sandstrand!!!).
