Very Disappointing Experience – Not What We Expected From Moon Palace We booked our vacation at Moon Palace Cancun, and at the time of booking it was not made clear to us that we would be staying specifically in the Sunrise section. Considering how much we paid for this vacation, the experience was extremely disappointing. The rooms and buildings felt old and outdated, but the worst part was finding a worm actually ON the bed. This was completely unacceptable. The beach was another major disappointment. There was a very strong, unpleasant smell, and there was a large amount of seaweed. The water and shoreline looked dark and black in areas. We came to Cancun expecting to enjoy the beautiful Caribbean beach, and unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy it here. The food was also disappointing and did not match the quality we expected for the price we paid. There also wasn’t enough to do, especially for families with kids and teenagers. Many things closed early, and the resort became very quiet at night with limited entertainment and activities. What bothered us most is that we paid a lot of money expecting the Moon Palace experience that was advertised to us. Had we known exactly what the Sunrise section, beach, and overall experience would be like, we would have made a different choice. Cancun is beautiful, but unfortunately our experience at Moon Palace did not live up to our expectations or the amount of money we spent. We would not return based on this experience.

Spent four nights - perfect amount of time. This was our first all inclusive in Mexico and we really had fun. The parties and entertainment were WOW...every night. Top liquor. The food was good, staff was kind and attentive, and rooms were cleaned nicely. One downfall of the resort was the lack of ocean swimming but I have a great tip. Walk out of the resort, cross the street (careful, it's a bit crazy) and grab the bus. One dollar to ride. We took it down to Playa Chac Mool. Lifeguards, no bothersome vendors, safe, waves and beautiful waters. I believe we'll go again!!!

We stayed at nizuc in a well sized ocean view suite. Just one night prior to a return flight. Excellent stay - you can use the facilities and eat at restaurants on day of check in and until 11pm on day of checkout. Restaurant food was good quality - we ate at monom Asian (excellent) and breakfast buffet (good) plus the coffee and snack bar. Pool side drinks were okay but service was good. Nice touches were taco and various snack stands around pool area, crazy golf, surfing water machine, water slide, plenty of deck chairs). Staff extremely polite.
