Hotels with Swimming Pools in Oceanmarsh Subdivision

"When we got there was no one at the front desk, just a person at a kiosk that was very hard to understand. I booked a king room and was given a double queen. When I questioned this the mystery man hiding behind the screen more or less told me the king wasn’t available and to pound salt. Our family checked in the next day and magically one was available and they got it. Going to the room when walking up the center steps, I almost fell. One of the steps was loose and tipped forward ,causing a very unsafe condition. When I got to the room the dead bolt didn’t work and you could smell someone was smoking pot in there before we stayed. One of the interior doors didn’t lock very well but I got it to work. I would have left but the area was booked up for graduation and there wasn’t any available. The morning breakfast consisted of burnt eggs and dried up sausage with a few muffins. There would have been pancakes but that machine was broken. Please do not stay here if your safety or customer service matters to you. "

"The breakfast was pretty good. The man running the breakfast area was on point and pleasant. Couple of issues I had; our room was not exactly clean. There were smudges, dirt and old toothpicks in corners, the bedding had torn corners and worn, the beds were far too tall and I don’t understand how any elderly person would’ve been able to stay there, the bed frames under the bed were collapsing slightly, pull out bed mattress NEEDS to be replaced, a little bit of black mold on the window frames (although the view from my 4th floor was absolutely beautiful looking over the marsh). The evening desk staff could actually smile when they interact with you. It wasn’t warm like one might expect from the front desk staff. And the exterior lighting, including the sign, looked like you were coming up on an old Haunted House (change the Green and fix the broken bulbs on the sign). Experience wasn’t terrible, just about 25-35 yards short of a touchdown. "

"It was clear that the room had not been properly cleaned. The sheets smelled, the towels were ratty, the toilet was dirty and one of the drinking glasses was covered in greasy fingerprints. It was disgusting. The only good thing was the staff was pleasant."

"Jocelyn at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately her cheery and helpful attitude was the only highlight. The breakfast situation was horrible. There was one, I repeat, ONE person taking breakfast orders, cooking, cleaning tables, replenishing (and keeping an eye on guests understanding that the continent breakfast wasn't included in a room stay) continental breakfast items and coffee. Unless there was some extreme situation, the hotel management should be ashamed. Personally, I think hotel management should have been down there helping because clearly this couldn't be the norm. The poor woman responsible for all that was looking for the single person at the front desk to come help bus tables and she couldn't leave during check-out. From the time you went downstairs to the time food hit your table, it was an hour and that was if there was only a few tables filled. The food was cooked to order and good, but it was uncomfortable being there because of the overwhelming duties of that single employee."

"The beds were comfortable. Room overall was clean but there was a lot of trash and candy wrappers behind the nightstand on the floor (saw this when we moved the nightstand to plug something in) and there was some trash on the floor behind the toilet. We went to use the hot tub and the water was not hot. We reported and was told maintenance would fix it but they were not there. Also, reported lose faucet on bathroom sink after day 1 of our 4 night stay and was told again maintenance would fix it and they never did. There is a sign on the mirror that say no room service unless requested however for long stays the room would be serviced after night 3. On the morning after night 3 we told the front desk we only needed clean towels and trash to be emptied. She told us we would need to bring the towels to the desk to be exchanged for clean ones. We are not high maintenance but it seemed like every time we told the front desk about something, nobody offered to help. The only friendly person we really met was the attendant the night we checked in and the gentlemen that tended the breakfast area in the mornings. Also, one of the sprinklers in the ceiling must have had an opening in the ceiling around it and the opening was filled with toilet paper that was hanging down. Not sure we will stay at this property for future visits. "

"Older hotel! Needs an upgrade! Location was excellent on the marsh and had easy access. Staff was friendly and treated people well. "
