The accommodations, while unique were not as comfortable as we hoped but the onsen (hot spring bath) was absolutely wonderful and very enjoyable. The food they serve is also traditional Japanese, and while it was delicious, you really get little choice as the menus are set. That said, I would definitely recommend the Hakone Airu for it's great service and for the unique experience."

"Excellent. Clean, beautiful property with a friendly staff. Love the Kaiseki dinners, wide variety of breakfast buffet options. Natural unseen hot springs was excellent. PS. I love the place, but the Expedia did screw up. I chose the place because of their Kaiseki dinners, I chose and paid for it. The hotel did not have the information, I chose the dinner plan but the property did not receive the information. Costing me more money. But I’m glad I did it because it was worth the experience."
