Brannholm- Glass And Timber Home On Devils Lake With Dock - Pet Friendly

Family-friendly, beachfront holiday home near Chinook Winds Casino
Brannholm is a stunning 1973 Scandinavian modern lodge featuring cedar walls, knotty pine ceilings, and windows along the south and west sides of the home, providing lake views from nearly every room. The home--an architect's masterpiece for his own retirement--has modern, comfortable furnishings, but maintains the fun of the original design by featuring nautical, vintage rustic, and Scandinavian details. At 3200 square feet on .6 acre, the home is double the size of most four bedroom homes in Lincoln City. It doesn't get more "lakefront" than this home! The home's trapezoid shape is built to the waterline, with a 16' seawall and patio extending into the lake. You'll wake to see water all around!

Common Areas
The great room is around 1000 square feet, with an open floorplan centered on a modern rock fireplace. One side has leather reclining seating and a large HD TV with cable, movie channels, Bluray-DVD and Netflix, so you can all watch the game or enjoy the lake view. A Bluetooth speaker allows you to share music together. The upper deck allows you to watch the sunset inside or out. The other side has lakeview dining for the whole family. The dining area flows into a double galley kitchen, featuring a gas cooktop and indoor grill, with space for the whole family to cook together. At the opposite end of the kitchen, you will find a breakfast nook, dry bar, and sunroom with extra space for yoga or morning reflection.

Sleeping
The upstairs 'guest' bedroom is private, and features a king sized bed with a crib available, and a small tv. An extra twin mattress can be made up here (sheets, blankets, pillows provided).

The downstairs 'camp' bedroom features lake views, a queen sized bed, 2 twins on a bunk bed. There is also a full rollaway and full futon can be set up here (all sheets, blankets, pillows provided).

The downstairs master bedroom features lake views and a queen sized bed, loveseat, desk, and small tv. An extra twin mattress can be set up here (all sheets, blankets, pillows provided).

There is also extra sleeping upstairs, the great room daybed is a twin bed (sheets, blankets, pillows provided). You may also catch yourself sleeping in the super-comfy recliners!

To sleep 12 people, 2 people each share the 2 queens and the king bed. The other 6 sleep solo in the twin beds/twin mattresses, daybed, full futon, and full rollaway. Quality linens and Pendleton blankets are provided for all beds.

Cooking
The kitchen is set up for cooking: toaster, coffeepot, espresso machine, looseleaf teapot, rice cooker, wok, stick blender, regular blender, cookie sheets, pizza pan, muffin pan, cake pans, roaster, casserole, pots, pans, popcorn popper, bread machine, food processor. If you are planning a special meal, we can send an inventory so you know what (if anything) you need to bring.
Amenities
You'll find the home equipped with coffee, tea, staples, and basic spices. There are also games for all ages, children and adult books. A bluetooth speaker allows you to share your music.

Outdoors
Use the dock and patio for your boat, to fish, or to launch your canoe; a swim ladder makes lake access easy. We provide 2 sit on top kayaks, some fishing gear, and life vests. There is a fenced dog run where your dogs can play, and an upper lawn where you can throw a football, or set up volleyball or croquet. Extra outdoor seating in the dog run, and o launch is less than a mile away. NOTE: some outdoor amenities may be unavailable in the off-season, so ask. Location Brannholm is close to the beaches of Lincoln city, on the less populated East Side of the lake. Devils lake is much warmer than the Pacific, and is popular for swimming, canoeing/kayaking/SUP, boating, fishing, waterskiing, wakeboarding and wave running. The lake effect gives us sun even when the beach or the valley is fogged in! Birds abound here in all seasons. In summer, you'll see hummingbirds, osprey, swallows, egrets, herons, kingfishers, and other water birds. In winter, there are eagles, owls, blackbirds, mergansers, grebes and ducks. Rare visitors may make an appearance, such as pileated woodpecker, or the northern spotted owl. Immediately uphill from Brannholm is the Siuslaw National Forest, home to all kinds of wildlife, mushrooms and berries. Deer, owls, black bear, cougar, and coyotes may venture down the mountain. Old logging roads there are great for mountain biking or a walk in the woods. Access There is private parking here for 4-6 cars in our turnaround and garage. Public transit for Lincoln county is about 2 miles away. There are 2 steps to enter the home, and the main level has all of the common space and the 'guest' bedroom. Perfect getaway
The house was perfect. Great location on the lake. Beautiful decorations throughout. Comfortable furniture and the owners have thought of everything you would ever need. My husband and I visited during not only a covid world but also fires in the region. The owner communicated with me daily and was incredibly gracious to our comfort level of traveling. We had no hiccups at all because the owner was 10 steps ahead of everything during this crazy time. The house is huge and spacious. We will be back for sure. It is close to everything you would ever need. You get the lake and an ocean a few minutes away. Plenty of dining options in the area plus golfing and a casino. Thank you for the memories!

3/5 Okay

Lake Views but old house with dog smells
This house was stocked with some fun things for family- kayaks and board games. Beautiful lake views and relaxing in the hot tub was a highlight. Plenty of seating upstairs. Stocked kitchen, but old pots/pans. The negatives include the downstairs carpet has lots of pet stains and smells like it! The downstairs bathroom/bedroom threshold was constantly wet (not sure from what) and a tack strip was poking through which three of us all stepped on and drew blood. The dock step is rotted and bowing, not safe for stepping in and out of boat. The upstairs shower joint was spraying water all over the bathroom. Downstairs room missing a whole window blind, so kids were waking up early. No AC, so house was hot and exacerbates dog smell and only two windows upstairs open to allow minimal airflow. We emailed all these things when we first arrived, but never heard back from owners. So we bought a new pan, put towels around the bathroom, bought a step stool and straps to add to dock, and took it upon ourselves to try and clean some old carpet stains. We enjoyed our time, but would not stay here again.

Otis oasis
Very fun time had by all.

Priced Right
Loved the location! Property and landscaping is beautiful, could use weekly landscaping and blowing of entry patio and walkways. Second floor could use air conditioning, too warm in the peak afternoon hours and if you are cooking...well, you get the picture. Temperature highs for the week of 22-26Jun forecasted upper 60s, yet inside on the second floor felt more like upper 70s/low 80s. Future occupants should consider insurance due to covid19, owner policy listed as no refunds. Misunderstanding and communication about the property's current condition is not listed and very unclear, subjecting occupant to unnecessary stress and owner replying back "we are already aware of property condition." All in all, we had a great time and enjoyed beautiful Devil's lake.
