This was a quaint place to stay in the Byward Market area of Ottawa. Walking distance (10-15 min) from the Shaw Centre for our conference, and just a few blocks from the Champagne fitness center which has a full-length 25 yard pool. The room was well equipped with microwave, fridge, plates and utensils as well as table/desk, and had a private balcony as well. Service was friendly and helpful, and rooms were cleaned daily unless otherwise requested. Breakfast was included and excellent - eggs, bacon or sausage, egg sandwiches, cereal, fruit, yogurt, potatoes. The only slight negative was the air conditioning which didn't go cool enough for me (the coolest was maybe 71 F?), paired with a duvet instead of sheets/light blanket so it was either heavy blanket or nothing - had difficulty sleeping at night.

Great little boutique hotel that features terrific staff, great croissants every morning (as well as a number of other breakfast options). A short distance to pretty much everything you would want to see or do in Ottawa. The most important questionis: Would I stay there again? The answer is a resounding Yes.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel within walking distance to many attractions. The staff are pleasant and helpful. The breakfast is very good hot food, cereal, croissants etc. One issue was Dalhousie St close by the hotel this street seem to have quite a few druggies so we avoided it.

Arrived early from a long trip. The gentleman who works in the morning was so kind to check me in early. I was able to get a good rest right away. Breakfast was excellent too! Will be coming back for sure.

Very good value for the money rooms were updated and very clean. Only negative was the parking garage that only holds 8 cars in a very tight space

Absolutely great choice, the place is completely renovated. The staff are very very friendly. The rooms are spotless. Its right by the market. The best part of it was the room we stayed in had balcony and its amazing to allow fewsh air in to the room. We travel alot and I hate it when rooms are stuffy and no way to get fresh in. Absolutely recommend this spot

The rooms were very clean and quiet. There were many amenities in the room, e.g. microwave, iron, fridge, dishes. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location was within walking distance of the main attractions.

The paint fumes were very present in our room, not impressed, but the rest of our accommodations were satisfactorily.

I stayed for one night- arrived a bit early and was able to check in right away. My room was as expected- it’s an older property, but my room was clean and comfortable and I felt safe as a solo (female) traveller. Breakfast was included and was amazing! Staff was polite and helpful.

The staff were amazing and very polite and made the checking in and our process as simple as possible. Amazing view from the balcony on a safe quiet street where you can still see the downtown area close to many attractions! Amazing breakfast in a nice little area with a nice view! The room was overall very clean, a little tiny but perfect for the price point and an amazing spot if your visiting with a friend or significant other! 10/10 recommend! Will be visiting again in the future ☺️

This was my first stay at the Byward Blue Inn and I was pleasantly surprised. The property is convenient to the Byward Market, Parliament Hill, the Rideau Centre, and delicious dining options.
