"We were pleased to have our room available for early check in (1 pm) as it was a rainy day. Check-in was fast, friendly and efficient. Breakfast choices were excellent although the buffet room often became crowded. Breakfast staff were efficient in removing plates, cleaning tables. We had appetizers and wine at the Noz Restaurant and the hummus and olive tapenade was excellent. Check-out early in the morning (4:30 am) was efficient and helpful. Amenities over New Years were excellent. The location is Old Town Funchal is near to many activities and sights."

"Our stay at Villa Camelia was truly superb! Visiting in low season meant we had a near-empty property to enjoy - and it's a stunning house! The communal spaces are truly whimsical and there's something new to spot every time you walk through. Our room was very homely and the high ceilings on the upstairs level made it feel even more spacious. The breakfast served by Berta each morning was splendid, with lots of choice and all of it delicious. The grounds surrounding the house are plentiful and well-maintained and we cannot wait to return in the summer months to spend our downtime outside in the sun! Simply put; do not hesitate to book your stay here!"

"The breakfast was fabulas with every type of foods, fresh fruits and different breads. Staff were lovely and friendly. Though there was no vegan milk out when I asked for it the lady on breakfast staff quickly produce it. Room was lovely with a balcany and beautiful toiletries."

"Hotel bien situé! Chambre spacieuse avec un balcon pratique pour discuter le soir. Chambre où il fait chaud sans ventillo ni clim. Malheureusement la quartier est bruyant avec un bar en dessous et des chiens qui aboient la nuit. Le petit déjeuner est plus que médiocre.. comptez bien 30 min avant d'être servi. On a le droit a 2 commandes maximum. Pain sec et les yaourts chimique. Serveur peu agréable ni souriant La dame de l'accueil est très gentille et parle un peu français ! Convenable pour une nuit. Dommage car porto da cruz est un lieu magnifique! "
