Pros: Great location. Charming; very clean and cozy. Everything worked. Remarkably well stocked. Very quiet, pretty views. Lovely little porch and outdoor seating. Owners very pleasant and welcoming. House was warm and welcoming when we arrived. Cons: Spiral staircase extremely steep. Driveway very steep; backing up the driveway a bit daunting and not something a novice driver would feel comfortable doing.

Yes the driveway is steep and a new driver may not like it so thank you for pointing that out. The spiral staircase is not necessarily something adults like to use as much as kids do and If not agile it should not be used at all. Come stay with us again anytime!!

Mike and Grace were awesome in their responsiveness to questions and for their advice in touring the area. The cabin in ideal for visiting Mt. Rainier and is fully equipped for any stay. It is a comfortable homey place, and we would stay there again.

We absolutely loved this cabin!! It was clean, cozy, and has a breathtaking view of the mountains from the large glass window in then living room. With a large porch the length of the house you can have coffee on the porch and watch the sun rise! There are two bedrooms upstairs so you could truly accommodate a whole family here. The hosts greeted us by email as soon as we booked and gave clear instructions to the cabin and were very hospitable! The cabin really feels like a home with lots of personal touches. There was a wood burning stove in the living room that we would’ve loved to have tried out but it wasn’t quite cold enough yet. The location was 14 miles from Mount Rainer National Park and we found a great place to eat in Packwood for dinner which was only around 2 miles from the cabin. We truly couldn’t have been more pleased with our accommodations!!! We’ll definitely go back!

Comfortable home
Me my wife and granddaughter stayed in the home. It was as described and had everything you would need. Even a fire pit and sticks to make smores! The beds were comfortable and we found the home to be very clean. The spiral staircase was a fun feature. We had plenty of room for the three of us and would stay here again if we are in the area. We visited Sunrise Visitor Center which is about an hour away. Thank-you for being responsive and sharing your home.

We had a very comfortable stay at this property and the hosts were warm and friendly and communicated really well and answered all our questions. It’s a really cute place with a few dining options close by and not far from Mt Rainier!

Doesn't get much better
Great location. Perfect for family or small group stays. Would like to have stayed a few more days, but our schedule for this trip pushed us on. If we ever make it back to this area, we will look for this place to stay again.

I cannot say enough about the property that we stayed at with Mike and Grace. The house is perfect for a family of four. Of course for us it was just right. Upon entering the property the house is extremely clean. Had plenty of towels and wash cloths even had extra soap and shampoo if you happen to forget yours. One also wonderful thing was the fact that there was a coffee pot with coffee Sugar, assorted teas. And in the refrigerator, they kindly have stocked multiple condiments for your use. They have a full kitchen and oven. Unfortunately, on our journey we did get lost, but Mike was so kind to respond to my text messages letting us know that he would talk us all the way in to the property from the main highway. If we are ever out west again, we will definitely be staying there.

The cabin is was very clean and cozy. Feels like home. Great location to hike to Silver Falls and Mount Rainier from Paradise visitor center. The host was extremely helpful and detailed in every area that we had questions about.

Nice and quiet neighborhood. Very close to Mount Rainer National park. 5 min drive to local restaurants and grocery stores. Easy to communicate with host. Great place to stay with friends and family.

This cabin was the perfect spot for our family while we spent time at Mt. Rainier! The location was great and the hosts were very friendly and willing to help if we needed it. The area of Packwood had a great small town charm. We will totally stay again if we are in the area!

The property was in a good location to see Mt Ranier. It was very small for 4-5 people with only a small futon in the living area and the dining room chairs. The spiral staircase seemed very dangerous especially if you needed to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The kitchen was well equipped except there weren’t many dishes so that you needed to watch them after every meal.

Thank you for your feedback! Yes the cabin is a minihouse and is listed along with pictures with such that includes a spiral staircase. The best way to describe such a small cabin is cozy. So if potential guests need a lot of room and plan to hang out indoors, this cabin is definitely not for you! The spiral staircase is very sturdy so cannot be considered dangerous. However, guests need to be agile to use them. So if there is anyone who has any physical impairment that would cause any difficulties in negotiating stairs, we strongly suggest they are provided the downstairs bedroom. There is dishes there to serve 8 people and we supply paper plates as well. For a cabin that is 16 x 28 with only 1 bathroom, we suggest 4 adults maximum for the best comfort for all. However from feedback we get, 2 adults with kids is actually more ideal because kids love the stairs and have their own privacy in the loft! We want our guests to be comfortable in our cabin the size it is. So we hope and encourage potential guests to study the listing provided before they book!

Packwood Ski Lodge
Very cute lodge. Be aware of steep spiral staircase to the upstairs bedrooms. Backing up and coming down the steep driveway is very tricky. Views from the lodge are spectacular. Owner lives in house on property, so they are there Iif you need anything. Restaurants in the area have limited hours if they are even open. The selection of food at the local grocery store is very limited, produce old, and freezers not working to capacity. Highly recommend shopping before getting to town as the store is highly overpriced. The drive to Mt. Rainier from there was easily accessible. Beautiful ride.

This cabin was perfect for our family of six! It had everything we needed to be comfortable and the decor had that perfect cabin feel. We only wish we had more time to enjoy the place as we got in late and had to leave early. We all agreed that we want to come back and stay for an extended period of time. Perfect get-away

Great place!
Great little cabin, we really enjoyed our stay! There are a couple small "quirks", like the difficult to navigate spiral staircase and the driveway is a bit challenging to back-into as it is fairly steep with a large curve, but these things add to the charm of the experience. Great communication by the owners and pet friendly. Very convenience to Mt. Rainier. We hope to come back!

Thank you for your feedback on your stay at our cabin. Thank you for mentioning the spiral staircase and driveway as we don't want any surprises for our future guests that they can not accommodate! The spiral staircase is not for everyone and if any physical limitations we need guests know they would need to sleep downstairs ONLY!! The driveway is indeed steep and comes to a tee so it is best to drive facing forward to the tee and turn right and stop the back up your vehicle to the cabin. This makes it easier to get back down! Some guests choose to just park at the tee. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and are welcome back anytime!

Everything was fantastic except hotel.com charging a $65 fee that I thought included the pet fee. It didn’t and had to pay extra at the location which was not stated.

Lovely home, dog Friendly, quiet, amazingly stocked with all the basic necessities and more! Fantastic communication, perfect getaway. The stairs could be a bit steep for anyone with disabilities or not able bodied but the upstairs is really cool with 3 beds and tv area! Our kid loved it!

Very nice and well put together cabin. Everything was clean and the communication with the Owner was excellent. Very quiet area and peaceful. Has two grills, a fire pit and covered porch if it rains but you still want to be outside and cook. No complaints and will be back to this property in the future.

Tucked away white pass chalet
Cozy little cabin with all amenities needed for a weekend ski trip with family. White pass ski area is 20 minutes away and a gorgeous drive to the mountain! Definitely would recommend over the surrounding hotels.

Exceeded expectations!
Owners said, “All you need to do is grab some food and you should be good to go!” They were right. Thoughtful with the intent for their guests to have a good time is at the heart of the owner’s vision. Items that were there that I didn’t pack included a wine opener, kindling/firewood, toiletries, spice rack fuller than mine at home, and board games for the kids. We will definitely be back!

Great cabin with extremely thoughtful touches
A really charming cabin with extremely thoughtful touches (like a dog toy for our labradoodle) - great cooking amenities including spices, clean and just overall pleasant. Communication was fantastic. I would highly recommend this as a getaway, it's ideally located for both summer and winter activities around Rainier.

Great little cabin well stocked with your basic needs. Close to Mt. Rainier which would make it great for spending a couple days hiking and returning in the evening to sit by the fire pit. The owners made were quite helpful with the local area. It was a neat little place to stay.
