We stayed at Es Niu for a week and couldn’t hope for better visit. The staff were really friendly and easy to reach when we needed help. Special mention for the delicious breakfast - we really liked that there was different special treat on the menu every morning. Value for the money at this accommodation 5/5!
Gem of a hotel. Simple, stylish and located close to the beach. Great breakfast with excellent espresso! A few lovely touches included such as a cold water dispenser with reusable and returnable glass bottles. Beach chairs and umbrellas available to borrow and beach towels to rent. Uri was exceptionally friendly and helpful, providing information and helping us with taxis etc
We had an excellent stay at Hostel es Niu de Tamariu. The staff were very friendly and accommodating (even preparing a take away breakfast for us when we had to leave for an early flight). The hotel room was very comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. We highly recommend this hotel for your visit to Tamariu.
Very friendly staff. Héctor was great - ver accessible and he and his co-worker have innkeepers hearts. They were just opening up for the season, so Tamariu was a ghost town - make sure to bring food at this time of year so that you aren't forced to drive all the way to Palafrugell for a food store. Es Niu had a refrigerator for guests to use. Sweet place.
I loved my stay at Es Niu! I stayed in the single room (#21) and it was such a sweet little space. The room had a large window which made it feel bigger and gave so much natural light. The bed was super comfy, and the thoughtful touches in the decor really made my three nights there feel special. The staff is incredible and really go out of their way to make your stay special. The breakfast is delicious and has slightly different choices each morning which was a nice touch. The location of the hostal is great- a two minute walk to the beach, and not in the middle of all the tourists. I really recommend Hostal Es Niu!!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
Overall this apartment was ok, the apartment was clean but for the price they charge in August it is expensive for what you get. The apartment is compact for 4 but worked ok and long as you kept the place tidy, the equipment in the kitchen was basic but we were able to cook several meals during our stay.
Beds were ok, but not particularly comfortable, not terrible, but you can tell the mattresses are cheap.
We stayed in the apartment on the first floor facing the road and it was particularly noisy. Constant cars, motorcycles and lorries driving past all day which was not very restful when trying to enjoy the balcony.
However, the apartments are less than a 200m walk from the beach and local shops so for location they were great.
Absolutely Exceptional – A Hidden Gem That Feels better than 5 Stars!
From the moment I arrived, everything about my stay was simply amazing. Although it’s officially a 3-star hotel, the experience felt like something straight out of a luxury 5-star resort.
The staff truly made all the difference. Hector, Uri, Irena, and the rest of the team were incredibly kind, helpful, and professional. Their warmth and attentiveness went above and beyond what I expected — it genuinely felt like they cared about making every guest’s stay perfect.
The atmosphere was dreamy, like something pulled straight from Pinterest. Beautiful decor, cozy vibes, and thoughtful touches everywhere made it feel both relaxing and inspiring.
Another huge plus: the location is fantastic — just a 2-minute walk to the beach! Whether you’re heading out for a morning swim or catching the sunset, it couldn’t be more convenient.
One moment that really stood out: on the day I checked out, I had to leave earlier than the usual breakfast time, which was unfortunate because they bake all their pastries in-house — and trust me, they smelled amazing. I let them know I’d be checking out at 7 AM, and to my surprise, the chef and team went above and beyond and kindly prepared a to-go snack/breakfast for me. It honestly didn’t matter what it was — it was the thought and the gesture that meant the most.
I can’t recommend this place enough, and I’ll absolutely be coming back. Thank you for a truly memorable stay!
A great location and nice looking cosmetic finish. Very quiet, close to restaurants and beaches, and good value. Decoration looks very nice but not the highest quality. Great value for money.
A nice and cozy hotel with a good ambiance. Well designed within the limitations of the space. Great location- 2 min walk to restaurants, 3 min to the beach. Everything was great.
We stayed in one of their apartments. Parking was included which was very handy during high peak season.
The only improvement I could see would be to have AC inside the bedrooms. The AC was in the living room only. We had to leave the doors open at night in the bedrooms for the air to get in, sometimes the light from the living room made it uncomfortable for the closest bedroom to keep the door open.
Anyways, this was the best option we could find and the place and service was great. Totally recommended!
Perfect place to see Tamariu. Walk is not far from the beach and not up the hills or stairs surrounding Tamariu. It’s actually quite peacefully with the little terrace and birds, especially at night. Could happily relax in my room. Quite spacious rooms, and good bathrooms. I recommend the breakfast, I initially didn’t have it on the booking because I like to try out different places, but there weren’t many good breaky options around (during May). They even did a breaky travel box for me as I had an early start when I left - perfect for eating on my train travels. It is a Hostal, so desk is only serviced during the day - just keep that in mind if you plan to leave early in the morning (which I wouldn’t recommend on public transport if possible to avoid).
