The room was not ready on the indicated time so we had to wait until it was cleaned. And when they finally let us into the room you could see that cleaning lady had to rush, the toilet was dirty and the sink had hair. There's a little yard in the middle of the property that could use some TLC and attention.

Comfortable enough for a one night stay. The clip for the shower head did not function to hang it up, and there was a lot of dust up high. Bed, floor and bathroom were clean enough. The twin room may not work for anyone taller that 5 feet 8in. Staff was very warm and friendly.

Nice stay, hotel a bit tired. The main issue is the soap dispensing which are very hard to get any soap as the bottle was very hard to squeeze with one hand!!!

Good location less than 30 minutes walk from Gare de Lyon and by Place de la Bastille. Could not have breakfast due to early train but cosy and comfortable room and WiFi worked well.

Wonderful stay at the Hotel Castex. The staff members were very accommodating and friendly. There was delicious breakfast and coffee in the morning. The window view was lovely.

Greeted on arrival by a lovely man. He was completely happy explaining everything in English as my French isnt good. We had a complimentary bottle of wine. Room cleaned every day with fresh sheets and towels. Water pressure was amazing and hot. Brilliant location. Great value for money. Would definitely stay again.

Great little property. It’s an old building so space is limited, but the gentleman at the front desk was super friendly and seemed happy to see us everytime we came and went. The boiler heat took us a bit to find the right combination of heat and open window, but we’d stay there again in a heartbeat. Great neighborhood for metro, drinks and neighborhood bistros.

The staff is friendly and courteous. Breakfast is okay and they try to offer their best. However rooms are very small, tight spaces and smell old and muggy. I guess the old walls and heaters need some work. Maybe they need to open the windows and allow fresh air to flow. Bathroom is also very tiny.

Very poor accommodation
I don’t like to bad mouth hotels as it is people’s livelihoods, however even by Paris stds the accommodation was very poor and in disrepair, cleanliness was questionable. Pastries and breakfast good, staff nice

Our room was small, but clean and comfortable. There was easy acces to the Métro, and was also walkable to many of the sights. The buffet breakfast was tasty.

Not what we expected.
The people working there were very nice. The location was listed as the Marais. It was on the outskirts of the Marais which feel nothing like the wonderful heart of the Marais. The hotel felt nothing like the photos which represented it on the site. It was dark, a bit dingy and felt low-end vs the much more high end photos which made us feel good about staying there. The employees were super nice but the place was a bit depressing. Most upsetting was how misrepresenting the photos used online. They felt nothing like the place we stayed at.

Good Pied a Terre in Paris
Good little hotel with welcoming staff and a very practical location in Paris next to nearly everything, with a Metro stop very close. Bed was comfortable. It is old fashion but really well taken care of.

This is just a VERY mediocre hotel in a VERY busy and fun neighborhood in Paris. A lesser expensive option without too many amenities and VERY small room. So it would certainly appeal to a traveler looking fo such.

Small room but great location
The room was very small but its location was great! Just 2 blocks from Bastille. Many restaurants very close. The area is great. The room was very clean. The front desk people were very helpful and nice.

The outside of the hotel belies the incredible features of the property inside. Having said that our room was tired and the curtains were hanging off. This is easily fixed and makes a difference when you walk into a bedroom. Simple continental breakfast, not enough plugs in the room. USB sockets but didn't work. Didn't use the tea/coffee making facilities because cups provided are small carboard instead of proper crockery. Welcoming bottle of wine is a nice touch. Location is brilliant, the area is safe and there are so many bars and restaurants to choose from. Very quiet at night. We used the Metro all the time, cheap and easy to navigate. Staff at the ticket offices are very helpful if you need help. Despite the negatives, would consider staying here again, and hope for a better bedroom.

The guy at the reception with the long hair is super unfriendly! We Never felt welcomed he said strange Things because of Smoking on the street. The room smelled After a whole bottle of chlor and the Walls were so thin you hear everything. The Price is way too high and the Pictures online lie

The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rm was simple, but spotlessly clean. Perfect location, easy to walk to all the main sites. Also my room was on 5th floor and very quiet compared to many in city European hotels.
