"This hotel is essentially an apartment in a building that gives HUGE hostel vibes. It is extremely bare and not a place would stay again. There is no staff on site and while there is a free airport shuttle, it arrived late and the rep. I communicated with via WhatsApp, was non-responsive when I inquired about the late shuttle. The apartment is bare and poorly furnished. There was a lot of water on the bathroom floor after I washed my face, so I grabbed some TP to wipe it up and the TP was black after (it of course started out white). This revealed that the apartment is not really clean and I was pretty uncomfortable. I would not stay there again as a female solo traveler, unless there were no other hotels available in Athens."

"This property is ALWAYS a total "10". We have been there now 3 times this last month and were super happy each time. The dinner is prepared with love and wonderful fresh ingredients. Staff is friendly and helpful. Taxi arrangements are punctual and reasonable. We absolutely recommend Varaba Country House! We are already booked for our next trip via Athens."

"The hotel is a like an appartment building with a reception at the entrance. no breakfast/bar, ... but you can find that in the same street. Rooms are nice and clean. I booked the hotel for its free shuttle but couldn't use it, because they couldn't propose decent times, altough I informed them 5 days in advance about my flight schedule. Upon arrival they told me to wait 1h30 for the shuttle, as i was late and the next day I had an early flight I took an Uber (10 minutes), as I wanted to get to bed asap. In the morning they proposed a shuttle at 6h15 or 8h30 for a flight at 9h45. Or I would have to hang out 3 hours in the airport or risk to miss my flight. So again I took a 20 € uber to get to the airport. Weird as they advertise with their free shuttle but that service is very poor."

"The hotel and the rooms were awesome. Very clean and well appointed. The pool and the pool bar were great. The beach experience was a negative experience. They changed €45 for two chairs and an umbrella. The service was horrible. The waiters on the beach never checked on us and the acted offended when we walked up to the bar for service. Awful, don’t waste your time on the beach area. Otherwise, the stay was excellent."
