"First impression was less than perfect. The code box to press the entry numbers is poorly lit. Took me several tries to input. Stairs to unit are a bit rickety and the grab rail to the left going up is in need of repair. It nearly broke when I leaned on it to help me go up and is even worse trying to go down. "What a find!! Ed's cottage is wonderful, the cottage itself is cozy and cute and the property has lovely views and beach access. Ed was very welcoming and kind and even included the tide schedule for our stay as well as local recommendations. Add in the close proximity to Port Townsend and the cottage had a full kitchen, it was absolutely wonderful. I'll be back, that's a guarantee. "

"Beautiful historical hotel, the rooms were comfortable, the bed too and we liked the vintage style fridge. Because this is a historical building the walls are very thin and you can hear everything! I'd give it a higher rating but the thin walls were an annoyance. Also, no AC in the unit."

"Unit was very large with beautifully equipped kitchen. Bonus was it even had a dishwasher! Yard was partially fenced which was an added benefit if traveling with a pet. Only downside were the trains running in the middle of the night if you’re a light sleeper. Very clean and well maintained. Great value for the size and amenities. "

"The Port Townsend Inn is a budget motel and it has been around a while. However, we had an enjoyable stay and were comfortable in our room and the area. The room was clean, and the air conditioning worked well, which was nice because it was a couple of hot days. There was ample parking, and the motel was within half a mile of the charming downtown area. This is well within walking distance for us, but if you choose to drive there are lots of parking options closer, and you can catch a ferry downtown. There were many dining options, including pizza, Thai, homestyle, breakfast, coffee shops, ice cream, etc. Lots of shopping and art shops, also. The check-in process was easy, and the staff were nice. Although the carpet on the walkway outside the doors was worn, housekeepers were cleaning the lighting fixtures and dusting under the walkway roof, which tells me they care about keeping the environment clean. The carpet and fixtures in our room were in good shape and worked well. The pool and spa are out of commission because they are doing renovations, but there is a nice green area downstairs from the pool building, which was good for our dog to stretch his legs and relieve himself."
