Lovely old pub. Room a little compact with our dog but fine for one night stay on way to Scotland. Everything clean. Food and drink a little expensive.
What a beautiful traditional pub! Full of beams and roaring real fires, it was a historical gem. We stayed for 1 night as a stopover on our journey to Scotland. The food was exceptional, although a little limited on vegetarian/pescatarian food.
Tirril is very quiet and only a short walk to Penrith along the Eamont Way. It's well signposted especially when having to navigate the busy roads at Penrith on foot.
Overall, a charming, friendly place. We will return.
Beautiful 300 year old English inn which oozed character and charm. Friendly, warm staff who made us all feel welcome and like old friends. Lovely food, nice bar drinks and comfortable, newly refurbished rooms. Great breakfast.
One night stop which was very enjoyable. Big thanks to Mary the brilliant barmaid for her great service, banter and humour!!
