10/10 Excellent

"POD51 is a must stay when visiting New York. Not once did I regret the stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The property is clean and well maintained with an in-house cafe with great options for convenient on the go drinks and treats. It also has a fun bar attached to the property as well that you can enter from the hotel or street. The drinks are great and it’s a super fun atmosphere with board/card games. The rooms are pod rooms so they are not spacious by any means but they have everything you need. We stayed in a full pod which included a full sized bed with an attached private bathroom, it did not include a fridge or microwave so keep that in mind when eating out. There are other rooms where you share a bathroom with other guests so just look out for that if that’s something you’re worried about. With the amount of sight seeing we did we only used the room to rest and get ready for the day and that’s all we really needed. It’s in an incredible location, with cafes and restaurants and convenient stores all within a 1-5 minute walk. We even walked to the Empire State Building and Times Square. All in all a fantastic stay and will be staying again."

"The hotel and my room were generally clean and comfortable. Also, the location of the hotel close to Times Square, Broadway, restaurants, museums and other attractions was very good. Room service was good. On the weaker side was customer service at the front desk. They answered questions but it felt as though you were really on your own here. Not much in the way of customer service or general helpfulness. Luggage was stored upon early arrival at no charge which was very good. But no help with getting luggage to my room. Elevators were old and very small. Hallway floors and walls were a bit drab. I would stay here again due to good location and competitive room pricing. However, If you are lookin to be pampered or impress a significant other, there might be better choices out there. I was traveling solo, so it didn't matter. If I was bringing a woman with me on the next trip, I would explore other options that have better customer service, more amenities and a little more "WOW" factor. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate the AURA a 7, or maybe 7.5. Thanks."

"This hotel is in a fantastic location. Times Square is at the end of the street, public transport is easily accessible and there are shops and food options next door. It was also the most spacious room I’ve had in Manhattan and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel was also very clean. My only criticism was the street outside the hotel can get a little loud when the theatres kick out but it did quieten down over night and through the day."

"How do I begin? hotel under construction never told, less than friendly staff, horrible breakfast(over cooked, cold, rushed to eat and shut down 15 early) claustrophobic room, shower no pressure, bathroom wall paper coming off,had to leave windows open because thermostat would not cool room below 71 degrees, cleaning staff knocking on door at 10:05am asking us if they could start to clean the room when check out was 11am, horrible elevators service ( waiting 5-10 minutes each time to enter elevator with 15 people already on elevator) This is just the beginning. Never ever again booking a stay at a Hampton inn!!!!"
