Hotels near Pine Log State Forest

"I've never written a review, positive or negative but I'd hate for anyone to have the same experience we did. Carillon Beach is beautiful and we will be back. However, I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. Immediately when we arrive, it just felt dirty and my family, including 3 kids took our shoes off and I noticed the bottoms of our feet were turning black from dirty floors. The shower water didn't stay hot even during my husband shower. I got through half of my shower before the water started getting cold. The kids took lukewarm baths. I spoke to the office the next day and they said they were aware and it's because the hot water tank is small. I said but it's not even lasting through 1 shower, let alone a family. We believe one of the heating elements was out but they wouldn't send out a serviceman to check. No solutions were offered. Whole looking for one of the kid's shoes, I had looked under the bed and the dust was extremely thick. There was dust and cobwebs in the corners of rooms. Carillon Beach is wonderful but don't stay here!"

"We only stayed one night in our way through to Texas. But we were impressed with how quiet the building was in reference to its proximity to the airport. Very clean room and helpful staff. Would stay again"
