"What was advertised online was not what we experienced in person. This felt more like a rundown motel than a hotel. When we checked in on Monday, the TV didn't work, there was no phone in the room, no hair dryer, the iron didn't work, and for a suite we only had one plate and one glass. The towels and washcloths looked old and dingy. We reported the issues immediately, but it took until Wednesday night and multiple request before they finally replaced the TV and provided a phone, plate, and hair dryer. The property advertises free Wi-Fi, but it never worked. We had to use our hotspot from Monday - Thursday. After it rained, water came underneath the door, and the exterior door was difficult to open and close. The most concerning issue was security. The front desk gave another guest a key to our room without verifying her identity. She wasn't locked out of her room. She had simply gone to the wrong room. A stranger should never be given access to another guest's room. On checkout day, I had an important Zoom meeting and requested a late checkout. With everything we experienced, I thought this was a reasonable request. It was denied. We're Expedia Platinum members and travel frequently, and this was one of the most disappointing experiences we've had. Don't let the online photos fool you. The rooms are exterior-entry like a motel, and the property looks much better online than it does in person. I would not stay here again or recommend it to others."

"Overall, I had a pleasant stay. The beach was really too far to walk and driving a car to the public parking was hit or miss. Most people seemed to use bikes or golf carts. The reasons for a 4 out of 5 stars is that the bath mat was still wet from the previous renters and did not appear to have been cleaned. This gave me an icky feeling. One of the lamps was broken. I enjoyed having the kitchen area. Just seems like coffee could have been provided. Bring your own hairdryer and toiletries. Toiletries are provided, but they are very basic. The area feels safe, which is great for solo travelers like myself."

"The air wouldn’t stay on so the room got warm pretty fast, therefore sleeping was uncomfortable. There were a few random critters in the room. One was a spider crawling on me the first night we arrived. I was headed to bed so that was alarming. Overall the view was beautiful and the stay was ok! We had a good time overall."

"I had to change rooms as soon as I stepped foot into first room due to the noise from the pool in the evening. Second room was basically clean. However, the carpet was atrocious-filthy. The room smelled like urine every time the AC turned on. (I had to buy febreze). No one cleaned the rooms during my stay"

"Great hotel with clean room, wonderful staff and breakfast when we were able to get up before 9am. Parking in front is limited but ample parking in the back near the pool. Manager helped with my reservation (I added a day before my reservation since we got in earlier) she helped iron everything out quickly so I didn't have to pack and move to another room. SO Helpful!. It was quiet for a packed hotel. Since the cleaning schedule is different than I am used to - get extra towels since you will need them."

"Hyatt Place at San Destin is a great alternative from the big resort style locations. Their customer service and hospitality were far superior to other places in the area. Our room was clean and spacious. The complimentary breakfast included a variety of hot/cold options for all ages. The hotel also has a happy hour from 5-7, that includes great food & drink options at $4-$6. The hotel is in a great location: close to outlets, beaches, and restaurants. I will definitely recommend Hyatt Place."

"Overall, this was a pleasant place to stay. The pool and hot tub were enjoyable and well maintained. One concern that appeared to be shared by several guests was the wait time for the elevator, which could be quite lengthy at times. Additionally, the room would benefit from improved lighting, as it felt somewhat dim. Despite these minor issues, I had a positive experience and would consider staying here again."
