"My husband and I split our time in Zanzibar between two places. Our first stay was a the KonoKono resort and in the over water villas. It was absolutely fabulous and honestly the nicest hotel room/villa we have ever experienced. We felt totally spoilt by the hotel and well looked after for our stay. The food was delicious! I have a severe allergy to garlic and gluten and they catered to my needs so I didn’t feel like I was missing out. The room was stunning with a gorgeous view from the balcony. The cleanliness was impeccable. The bed was huge and so comfortable too and we slept very well during our stay. The floating breakfast was so decadent and really fun. We also loved the Tanzanian food night - fish masala curry was to die for! The resort is also extremely close to The Rock Restaurant which is an incredible experience. Charles was absolutely fantastic. He is a real credit to the team at the hotel. Jackson and Rosemary took great care of us during our stay too. Thank you so much! Points to consider… The road on the way up to the hotel was extremely bumpy but it would not deter us from returning. It’s just not ideal if you are planning to do lots of trips in and out. Personally, if you are staying in the water villas I think I better system should be in place for transporting bags (like a buggy or something similar) the walk was lovely but quite long if you are carrying things. "

"We had a lovely and memorable stay at Upendo Beach Boutique Hotel. The location is simply beautiful, with breathtaking views and a peaceful ambiance. The staff were exceptional—especially Theo, who was incredibly helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. Although I made an error in my booking by reserving the two-bedroom villa for only two adults, the hotel management showed great understanding. They kindly offered a generous solution by asking us to cover only 50% of the additional amount, which we truly appreciated. The villa itself was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed. The entire property is well-maintained and provides a wonderful boutique experience. One recommendation: it would be great if a pool heater could be added, as the water can be quite chilly in July. Overall, we enjoyed our time very much and thank the team for their hospitality! "

" Wonderful Stay at Maya Hotel Resort! I had an amazing experience at the Maya Hotel Resort during my 7-day stay. My first impression wasn’t the best, as we arrived at night, and I couldn’t see the ocean because the tide was out. However, in the morning, the water returned, and with better lighting, I was able to fully appreciate the beauty of the resort. The staff were absolutely wonderful—attentive, friendly, and always ready to help. The food was good, though there’s definitely room for improvement. One suggestion would be to add more variety to the breakfast menu, as it was the same every day. Despite these small areas for improvement, my overall stay was amazing, and I would definitely recommend Maya Hotel Resort to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. I would love to visit again! "

"I paid for a beach view for my nieces to stay at Pearl Beach resort. On arrival they were placed on a room far away from the beach. After they informed the resort that wasn't the room i booked, they were moved to a suitable room. The resort had no electricity on their arrival which cost their router to be down, however this was resolved in few hours later. Staff were helpful and apologetic of the situation. All in all they had pleasant stay and they informed me that the resort was a paradise and best place to relax. Grate for families. Thank you!"

"Location excellent, staff were lovely and very helpful, pool area great, beach beds shaded under coconut palms. Sea had a lot of weed but still fine for swimming. Food was good and they set up the dinner dining area in different locations including twice on the beach which was magical. "
