Recommend Highly, even your puppy pal is welcomed
From check-in to check- out our stay here was fantastic! The manager, Carmen, made the experience easy and seamless. This was my boyfriend and my first attempt at traveling with the 6 year old dog we rescued last year. Our friends recommended this location because the rooms are clean, spacious and close to downtown Pittsfield. The attention to detail was obvious from the start and so refreshing! This will be our go-to place to stay when we just need some New England air to recharge our Jersey batteries!

NOT INCLUDING THIS PROPERTY ALL OTHERS HAVE BEEN RUDE UNPROFESSIONAL WISE ASSED TO CUSTOMERS QUESTIONS & CONCERNS UNCARING SOME PLACES HAD NO ON SITE STAFF @ALL!!! SOME REFUSE SERVICE ANIMALS OR ANY ANIMAL THEY SOUND LIKE THEY HATE THEM!!!! BEWARE OF THAT....THEY CANCELLED A 2 WEEK RESERVATION BECAUSE I HAVE 2 SERVICE DOGS & THEY DID IT WITH HATRED IN THEIR VOICE.... I'VE HAD NO ISSUES WITH THIS LOCATION EXCEPT MOT UPDATING ON LINE INFORMATION BOOKING SITES.......DO A THOROUGH CHECK ON ALL HOTELS/MOTELS/INNS ANYWHERE REGARDLESS OF THE NAME!!! ESPECIALLY @THESE HIGH RATES!!!! SOME OF THEM HAVE 2--5 NAMES FOR THE SAME PLACE.....

The Central Downtown Inn & Suites has no front desk so make sure you contact the number on your reservation prior if you have any questions. Carmen was very helpful and the check in instructions were send by text message when the room was ready. It was clear and easy. The place was clean and we enjoyed our stay. Centrally located, free parking, free working wifi and spacious.

Amazingly clean. I used to travel for business and have been around the country and I have to say this was one of the cleanest accommodations I have been to. However, it did have a "pet" smell. I have many pets so I wasnt put off by it, but someone else may be. My only comment would be to add a full length mirror, perhaps on the back of the bedroom door and maybe some salt/pepper packets for convenience. If I need to visit Pittsfield area again, i know where to stay. Thank you to Carmen and her staff!

When we arrived at 6:30 pm, there were no on-site staff to let us into our unit. We tried calling the property and Expedia to get help. Nobody answered the phone. We called the police to see if they could help. They could not. We finally found someone coming out of one of the buildings. He told us that we were suppose to get a text two hours before arrival with codes to get into the building and codes to get into our room and codes to get into WIFI. We got no text. We called the number where he received his codes and they were able to give us the codes. The room was old -- the floors squeaked wherever you walked -- the couch felt like it had been made in the 1800s -- the staff changed the codes the day before we left requiring us to call for the new codes.

Hidden Gem
What a pleasant surprise. We were expecting a hotel room with a kitchenette and got a one bedroom apartment. It was clean and comfortable, and we loved the extra space. Close to most anything you might need. Would definitely stay here again.

This place was delightful. The rooms were very large, clean, quiet and well maintained. It is 1/2 block off Route 7 and the main downtown area so very easy to get to.

It was great, very clean. Impressive amenities. You just hear everything from above so I kept thinking my child was waking up in the night, but it was someone running around upstairs. Everything else was perfect! Would stay again.

Un-needed anxiety
Hotels.com messed up our reservation at The Central Downtown Inn & Suites by not confirming with the hotel whether there were enough of the right kind hotel room we needed. The hotel manager, Carmen, was great and apologetic for Hotels.com's mistake, but she couldn't do anything about it. Hotels.com did make other arrangements for us at another hotel that worked out for our stay, but the initial anxiety created by their mistake was not enjoyable, especially when we had a newborn that needed to be fed and had to be breast-fed in the car

Excellent stay
This is a small extended stay with convenient location and allows pets. The place is always well taken care of, easy to get in and out of with pets but decor is a bit dated.

They appear to have stolen or otherwise misplaced my Swiss Army Wine Master Knife that I left on the kitchen counter during the first night of my stay and which was gone when I returned the following evening after housekeeping had cleaned during the day. As this is an important personal possession, I have asked for it to me returned promptly. I am still waiting for a response.

Whenever our guests have a problem, we hope that they promptly will reach out directly to the General Manager or Assistant Manager's cell phone numbers that are provided in every guest's arrival text message. We absolutely want to act immediately in such a case.We are proud to never had have a theft issue here and to report that this wasn't one as well. Your knife went into the dishwasher with all other dirty dishes and was found immediately when we went to investigate! You'll be receiving a package shortly with your prized knife within :)

They never received my reservation info from hotels.com and I'm not sure which side was at fault but that was a problem. Then I didn't get the codes texted to me to be let into the buildings so I had to call and get them. There wasn't anyone to greet me so they asked me to text them a picture of my license which I didn't feel comfortable with. I would recommend them having on-site staff at a reception desk or to separate from hotels.com to better utilize communication.

For our guests who are wary about sending their ID's via our secure system, we do offer to meet you at your suite to take care of the red tape. I stayed here for a weekend of writing. It was perfect for that purpose-- a quiet, comfortable room (with a balcony!) and easy access to downtown. I did check-in over text message, which was a nice, convenient option. There are a few design quirks in the building, but everything was in good condition and worked well for me.

One of the two doors to the main hallway didn’t latch shut so I propped a chair under the door handle to ensure nobody walked in on me while I was sleeping. Someone else’s underwear was behind the bedroom dresser. Walls are paper-thin so I heard every word the neighbors said, as well as listened to their dog barking for about two consecutive hours while trying to fall asleep. I left after the first night despite paying for two. The check-in via text message process is bizarre.

This “hotel” should not be on Travelocity. When I arrived there was no registration desk, and no one there. Buried three clicks within my text were special instructions to contact them 24 to 48 hours before, which I never saw. I found a phone number, which was disconnected. I spoke to Travelocity who gave me another phone number, which no one answered. Needless to say I did not stay there, but found other hotels at great expense.
