Great location in the national park; walking distance to the park entrance. Clean and quiet suite with galley kitchen and compact shower in the bathroom. Restaurant right next door with simple food at a reasonable prices and nice local atmosphere (apparently doubles as a ski lodge in the winter). Wi-Fi would not connect supposedly due to “security concerns” with the router, though cellular service at the property was adequate for internet access and phone service. We did not try the breakfast offered at 12 euro per person as inexpensive food was readily available at the market in the little community next to the Villa Knezevic (5 minute walk) and the kitchen in the unit was more than adequate for food storage and preparation.

Lovely independent hotel near the lakes
This was a really cute, clean hotel stay. The owner checked is in and was very helpful. The room was small but perfect for what we needed. It was very clean. The shower pressure is great. The owner has a restaurant nearby which you can have dinner in. We had a car so getting around was easy. There is a playground for children. We opted for the breakfast which was €8 a day - it was a pretty standard spread with breads cereals meats cheese cakes etc. This hotel is about 15 minutes walk from entrance 2, from there (if you start early) you can do the whole lakes in a day. If you follow route K you will see both the upper and lower lakes. We had two nights here and split the upper and lower lakes across the days but this wasn’t necessary and we could have done it in a day.

Lovely hotel, about 20 minutes walk from Plitvice lakes entrance. Good parts: a really charming hotel and surrounding village, nice staff, free parking on site, small refrigerator in room. Less good: no air conditioning in room (but was a fan), missing wall sockets near bed, room a bit small (there might be bigger rooms, ours was a bit compact). Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location from which to access the 2nd entey to the park, and only a few meters away from the bus stop to Zadar/Zagreb. The room is basic but clean and comfortable. Be aware there is no air con and very few choices of places to eat nearby unless you have a car. The people are very warm and welcoming. Great value.

A nice stop in a pretty rural area and close to the entrance to the National Park. Room was neat and clean. Breakfast was fine. Folks running the little hotel were nice. There is a little restaurant just a couple of hundred feet from hotel that served a tasty ample and moderately priced dinner.

This chalet is in the village about a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk to entrance 2. Walking down the nice trail will save you parking fees at the entrance (if you can even find a spot, it was packed in October, can't imagine high season). Room was clean and roomy. Shared kettle outside room, no fridge. Burger type bistro across the street, not the best. Market store about 5 minute walk away for supplies. Breakfast offered for the usual 7 Euro or so, we passed it up so can't comment.

Enjoyed the Plitvice lakes area. Accommodation was close to gate 2. Easy walk through the woods. Bus from Zagreb dropped us off at third stop close by. Hotel room was clean. It’s supposed to be no smoking establishment which was what we like but why are the staff allowed to smoke in the dining area. The smell filters through.

I liked that it was clean tidy and easy access to plitvice lakes. Only thing I disliked was the firm pillows but I guess that’s a personal preference.

The bus would not stop until it stopped at Gate 2 entrance, so it was a long trek back to, and up hills to Villa Knezevic. It was adequate, but 2 km from entrance to park, room was average, bathroom was small, okay for the short time we wanted it for.

If you are looking into this hotel, you are most likely going to Plitvice Lakes. Couple of things, if you are doing the lakes don’t do a tour as they are too beautiful to rush through and staying here (for us) made the trip easy and enjoyable. We bused in from Zagreb, getting off at the 3rd Plitvice Lakes stop. Villa Knezevic is a two minute walk into the village of Mukinje. We arrived around 11 and were able to store our bags. The staff was friendly and informative. From there we walked up the hill to the market, stocked up and walked to the second entrance of the park. The lakes are amazing. We got back to the hotel around 7:30 checked in with ease and got sorted. Our room was small but comfy, exactly as advertised. There is a bistro across the street open till 11 and we had a great meal, salad pizza and a pasta. In the morning we walked the two minutes and caught the bus to Zadar. We highly recommend our experience to anyone traveling through Croatia. Thanks to the Villa staff for their great service.

Smelly bathroom
We only stayed one night so did not need anything fancy, just a comfy place to sleep. Unfortunately that wasn't really the case. The texture of the duvet cover and pillow cases were rough like kitchen roll and the duvet was too thick for summer. There was a terrible smell in the small bathroom, the smell of sewage. Also breakfast was just ok, nothing to rave about. The staff waa friendly but overall we were disappointed with this one.

Stunning location and a bonus that Plitvice National Park is only a 15-20 walk away. The villa itself was clean and the staff very friendly However the bed was very uncomfortable to sleep in due to very old, rough/bobbly sheets and not much nearby to eat if you are without transport. .

This is a lovely small hotel with helpful staff. Breakfast was great. The rooms are quiet and clean. There is a footpath from the hotel to walk to the Plitvice National Park which takes about 15 mins walk.

Nice place not too hard to reach from mukinje bus stop. It was a small room but perfectly clean and functional, lovely grounds and within easy walking distance to the plitvice lakes. There is also a supermarket nearby just before you enter the woods, which was handy.

Overall, this was a lovely hotel, and we stayed in an apartment which was in a different building to the rest of the hotel, which was nice. The hotel is very close to the national park, being a mere 15-20 minute walk through some woodland. There is also a supermarket around the corner, which is a 10 minute walk away (strangely, it seems to sell most things, except bread!). There were only really 2 downfalls. Firstly, there was a distinct damp smell in the kitchen of the apartment. Its likely that this was caused by the people staying in the apartment before us, and that the hotel were not aware of it, as we only started to notice it on the second day of our stay. Secondly, I am only 5 foot tall and even I struggled to move around in the shower, so a normal sized human being with longer limbs than mine may struggle. Despite these, I would genuinely recommend this hotel as it was good value for money, allowed us to cook our own food (although there is a restaurant for those not in an apartment) giving us freedom during our stay, and it is in a good location. The employees also have impeccable English skills, and the Receptionist even offered to walk us round to the supermarket to show us where it was, showing her dedication to customer service. There are children's play facilities in the garden, and if you ever wish to do the Plitvice Lakes marathon, it starts on the hotel's front doorstep!

The location is ideal - a short walk through the woods to get to Plitvice Lakes. The woman that helped my at the front desk through my stay was wonderful! She was so helpful (even when I saw her on the street, away from the hotel).

It's close to national park plitvice lakes. About 20 minutes if you make the short cut. Ask the housekeeper about the short cut. Great for traveling alone especially without cars because it's in walkable distance to the park, while the price is much cheaper than those hotels located right at the park. There is one supermarket and one restaurant in that area. But that's understandable because not many facilities can be found in rural areas. One thing disappoints me is that my bathroom is located outside my room.

Nice neat tidy clean room, in an old style villa. I had to leave early so couldn't have breakfast. I was disappointed reception didn't open at 7am like it was meant to, because I ended up wasting some of my day waiting for their for assistance, in the end i worked it out myself but lost an hour. Also no credit card facilities and hotels.com description of room was incorrect again, missing some services.

Très bon séjour. La dame de l’accueil est très aimable. On a pu laisser notre voiture à l’hôtel le temps que l’on visitait le parc. La chambre était très propre et en bon état. Pour visiter le parc il y a un sentier de deux km qui y mène.

Tolles Appartement mit separatem, kleinem Schlafzimmer. Die Schlafzimmertüre lässt sich leider nicht schliessen (Raum zu klein). Frühstück wird im Keller serviert. Schade! Das Frühstück konnte uns nicht begeistern. Mitarbeitende sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.
