Such a friendly place. The room was large, with good air con and hot water. It's not luxury but that's not what we expected for the price, and the extra touches such as the homemade soap/shampoo bar and unlimited drunking water were great. The highlights though were how lovely and helpful the staff were, and the breakfast was so good - different hot options every day with always the choice to have toast or waffles as well as fruit and yoghurt. Great value as it's included in the room price.

Excellent stay. Only negative was the very rude male night manager who made us feel unwelcome and acted as if we were irritants when asking him questions. The day manager - who was a lovely young lady was just the opposite.

The staff were so accommodating and welcoming and I loved the eco-friendly approach too. Walking distance to main shopping area and dinner and also safe and quiet spot. I felt so comfortable here, even as a female solo traveller.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Karuna! My room and views were such a joy after many weeks of travel. The hotel staff were wonderful and accommodating to my every need and request and the breakfast options were very satisfactory. The location is just off lakeside so it is right in the centre of the tourist area. The only thing I would note is that there is no elevator for older guests (but they do list this and are so helpful carrying your bags) - so just be aware before booking, and the street can get very noisey at night with locals teens partying (but it usually wrapped up around 11pm).

This might just be the best hotel in the world, ever. I’ve done a lot of travelling around Asia and the lovely people that run this hotel absolutely ace it in every way imaginable. I can’t think of a better place I have stayed for this amazing price.

Really lovely hotel. Great breakfast although slow service (took over half an hour for a waffle and had to ask three times for milk). Wifi did not work at all which was quite annoying

This hotel says it is family friendly… and it is!!! From the welcoming staff that smile and engage with the children, to toys in the lobby for the kids to play with, the management and staff go above and beyond to meet the needs of their guests! The owners are very involved with the daily running of the hotel and you can get real pour over coffee (not instant!!) with breakfast every morning. We highly recommend to anyone traveling with or without children!

Great location and friendly staff. The room and communal areas were clean and modern and the toys for the kids were a nice touch. My 2 year old also loved the fish/turtle in the pond outside! The breakfast was also delicious! We will definitely come back 😊

Outstanding stay
Our stay at Hotel Karuna was outstanding. The hotel is very comfortable, clean, well maintained. The rooms are spacious and clean and the bathroom are clean and functional. The hotel is a stone throw away from the main strip at Lakeside but has the benefit of being tucked away and quiet. There is a small courtyard/garden where you can sit and have a coffee/tea. The breakfast and coffee are delicious. The staff is outstanding. They were caring and helped us find what we needed. We would definitely stay there again whether to spend some time in Pokhara or as a base to trek in the Himalayas.

Lovely hotel
I visited Hotel Karuna with my partner as part of a trip around Nepal. The hotel is lovely and perfectly situated for Lakeside's main shopping road with plenty of bars and restaurants. The staff are all very accommodating and breakfast is spot on; lots of choice and good fresh coffee. We even took advantage of the laundry facilities and got our clothes returned to us the same day. My only negative point would be that noise travels easily within the hotel and oftentimes guests socialising in the lobby would disturb our sleep.

I stayed at the hotel for close to 15 days Overall apt for long stay..I liked the room size and felt they are quite big compared to the other hotels under same category and hotel is located in a quite and calm place and very friendly and helpful staff at the reception. Housekeeping is very good and keep changing the bathing towel and sheets daily and rooms are kept clean. Lovely Mountain view and lake view form the 4th floor. The hotel does not have resturant operated and since the place is 5 min walk from lakes side so I did not have the challenge of finding eat out options ( there are also food delivery service now in Pokhara) finding taxi or shopping. They hotel serve Breakfast which is good, also evening the amazing complimentary masala tea is available. Overall all thumps-up and I might stay here again if I visit pokhara again.

Hotel was as described, away from the noise but close to main street and restaurants. Breakfast was ok, only fist coffee is included in price. Could improve (juice, warm eggs, some bacon of sorts, etc). Overall good price for the money.

We stayed only one night before departing for our trek. Staff were amazing, the heating worked well, comfortable bed with amazing little balcony, excellent breakfast but the shower was more cold than warm. Overall very satisfied with our stayed.

Feedback from our guests is always welcome. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry for the issue with the hot water. We have 2 ways to heat our water, in order to avoid problems. The main source is solar power, however we have had several very cloudy days recently and the solar is not always able to keep up with the demand. The back up system is electric. The power in Pokhara has gotten much more reliable in the last couple of years, but we had random power outages in the last few weeks. We are sorry that we failed to provide our normal, hot water during your stay, and we hope that you will come back again on your next trip to Pokhara.

Best hotel in Pokhara!
Best hotel in Pokhara! Location to Lakeside was perfect (3 minute walk). Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, while still respecting your personal space. Clean and quaint with appealing decorations. Breakfast every morning was perfectly done. Nothing at all wrong with this hotel. Will 100% book here again if in Pokhara.
