Cute place

We had a nice stay in the low season. Considering the quality of places nearby, I think they do a pretty good job of maintaining this hotel. It doesn’t have elevators and some rooms require a fair amount of stairs. But it’s one of the things that add to the charm of the place. Charm and boutique is what you are coming here for. The pool is also nice; as well, the service staff are nice.

Nice enough hotel. However be warned that the rooms are located spread out over a hillside. There were 163 steps to climb to our room. Not the easiest with suitcases. I would not recommend this property to elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues. Also, no door on the bathroom is kinda gross.

The staff were really nice. We booked one of the Villa rooms on the top of the property and it was not good. Really loud, paper thin walls, couldn’t get much sleep there so the staff moved us to a beautiful room near the pool, which was so nice of them! Really appreciated that and would definitely stay here again knowing how accommodating they were. The pool & yoga area are really nice and private, away from the hustle & bustle of the town. The gym is nice too. The property is a little out of town but not too far so it’s quiet but a short walk to restaurants & shops. We did not eat or drink at the restaurant si senor or get room service because it was way too overpriced. We would have loved to get room service and drinks by the pool but it wasn’t worth the price (~$15 US dollar drinks). Would stay here again, just not in the villas on the top of the property.

I like the view friendly people. I don’t like the unsafe room design. Before my reservation I checked reviews about this specific villa, steps, noise, and mosquitoes. Yes, We got bitten by mosquitoes. Yes, it is hard to be climbing 80 steps to get into your room. Yes it’s really noisy, and at some points it does get annoying. There is not enough space or privacy for a couple. Privacy from outside isn’t very good even for toilet use. The space inside is really small and the appliances in the room are literally in the restroom. My biggest concern was safety. This room design felt really unsafe because we had to leave the property into a roadside to get into the villa and a wood gate door was the only thing between the bed and cars parking outside the room we can see the cars lighting when arriving or leaving smashing door all night . Sometimes people were driving very erratically after partying. Be aware of scorpions. Really disappointed. Thank You ML

Hotel is great.

Mariela at the front desk was wonderful. Our room La Playa was beautiful, though a little noisy as it was right on the road. Would definitely stay again, however I would never book through Expedia or Hotels.com as they were terrible in helping me book this room.

Eduardo, Maribel and Ricardo bent over backwards to make sure our stay was perfect. Irene and spa staff delivered exceptional relaxation experiences. Jorge and the bar staff at Si Senor provided amazing breakfast each morning and cocktails in the afternoon. And sometimes each morning. ;) Can't wait to go back!

The beach view, location and staff are excellent. We did run out of hot water when showering and the water is warm vs hot. Out of the hotels control is the very loud music from the bar on the Sayulita beach from 5 pm till 3 am, including Sunday. Unfortunately it ruins your enjoyment of the evening. I recommend staying in a location that doesn’t have a view of Sayulita Beach or out of town, to enjoy an evening and night free of loud techno pop repeating beat 5pm-3am. How one bar can impact millions of dollars in revenue for property owners and real estate values is strange. The music from other places in town is at a reasonable volume.

What a view!

So many stairs! 80 stairs to our room. We should've been warned when we booked. There was mention of stairs but we didn't expect that many. We are in our 80s and managed with no problem but it would be a problem for most people our age. Bed was very comfortable, friendly staff. Large partially covered patio with amazing view of the beach. Would recommend Amor Boutique prividing stairs are not a problem.

It was raining when we first got there and the roof was leaking in La Costa so the floor was wet. Also the hot water was hit or miss. The room was beautiful and the view was amazing being right on the ocean. The pool and yoga area was very nice. The staff was very receptive and friendly and spoke English which was very helpful.

This property did have beautiful gardens and grounds, and the room was very private and bed very comfortable. However, I felt pics were misleading, as there are no common areas available with any ocean views, all pics are from specific rooms only. We were at the top of many stairs and service was very limited. Only a push button lock on the door, not secure at all and difficult to lock our own door from the outside. This property was hard to get to, especially with a car.

Not secure enough for us

This is a difficult review to leave, but I can’t in good faith recommend this hotel to female travelers, or other more vulnerable guests, due to safety concerns. The grounds are gorgeous, the reception staff was wonderfully friendly, the views are out of this world. That being said, after checking in, we were approached by another party, advising us they’d had their money and passport stolen the night before, from their locked room. Thankfully they alerted us to this, and we ramped up our diligence, which may have saved us the same fate. We were prepared for noise from town (of which there was no shortage, until dawn) we were prepared for the possibility of being visited by the local wildlife (didn’t expect what sounded like several coati bound and determined to gain access into my room underneath the thatched roof directly above my head) but were not prepared for the ease of access to our villa from the secluded staircase mere feet from one of the bedrooms, which lacks window coverings. The doors require a code to enter, and the codes are apparently known to people with ill intentions, as we realized one of the bedrooms had been entered while we were at breakfast just before checking out. Unfortunately, the tip left for housekeeping was stolen, but considering the fact that they could have just as easily entered in the middle of the night, we felt we dodged a bullet. We enjoy Sayulita but will look elsewhere for accommodations next time.
