My favorite restaurants were literally steps away. The shopping on the short walk to the beach was amazing. Staff texted me when needed and responded to a request within minutes. Can't ask for better!!
Very clean, good location, good design. I had a unit with full kitchen and it is well equipped. The shower not working properly, the water is a bit warm but not hot. Centrally located, near the bars, restaurant, pedestrian street, beach. Great location, buy can be noisy for certain people. The phone number given in Hotel.com is out of service, but I wrote them and they give me a good one.
This is such a sweet and charming hotel. I loved waking up and opening all of the sliding windows and feeling like I was in a treehouse. It is right in the middle of the action, so if you are a light sleeper or do not plan on partying all night I would highly recommend getting something further away. The music never really stops, and the windows do not stop the sound from the street at all. On one particularly bad night, someone started construction at 2 am in the space directly under us with their music blasting. It was such a bummer to have slept so poorly there because I loved everything else. Staff was great.
Located right next door to club. No insulation so it was cold at night, loud music until 4:30am and no hot water or standard amenities like towels, blankets etc. Stay anywhere else.
Loud, central, and stylish—but not for light sleepers. The party is right outside, privacy is minimal (gap in the shades), and cash payment may be needed. The loft is dark, making makeup tricky. Great if you’re independent and up all night, but not a resort vibe. Sayulita itself is amazing!
The lofts are really cool urban flats. Open spacious floor plan Beds are super comfortable and we appreciated the nice linens. It is a great location close to everything. Be prepared for a bit of noise but it's worth it! We would stay there again
The room is gorgeous. I'd live there. But. There is no soundproofing and it's above a restaurant that plays loud music from 3:30 till at least 10:30. You hear everythjbg. You can't watch tv. You can't have a minute of silence and you certainly can't put kids to bed. You also hear all street sounds. And it's very central. So everythjbg passes by. At this amount of money you should not have to wear earplugs which at best only mute things.
Great unit. But you are listening to someone's else's loud music. Every afternoon to night.
I had to leave - even though I was paying for it. - they would not let me cancel and find another room so I could sleep.
The check in experience was terrible. It says to contact them 24 hrs in advance. I called, emailed, and messaged on the app. The hotel never responded to us.
There is not a front desk, but luckily we found cleaning staff that was able to communicate with the management and they let us into our room.
We weren’t provided any information including wifi passwords. The AC units didn’t work and there was no water pressure in the shower (literally none). We had to wash our hair in the bathroom sink which had an abundance of water pressure. Very odd.
At checkout - they let us know that they messaged on WhatsApp. This is important information to put in the listing, especially if you’re accepting reservations on an app but won’t be communicating through the app, pick up phone, or return emails.

We recently returned from Sayulita and our stay at the Papelillo lofts. Positives of this unit; You are in the heart of the city, the unit itself (Loft 6) gave of plenty of space, short walk to the beach. The lady on site "Mariana" is so very lovely. There is a language barrier but we used google translate to communicate which worked well. The con to the unit for myself was the lack of cleanliness (counters, floors, bathroom ect). I did not complain as that is not my way. I did ask for dish clothes and dish towels and Mariana provided these for us quickly. I knew when booking this unit that it was in the heart of the city and that there would be nightly noise to the wee hours of the morning. (this held true) I knew this before i booked and brought earplugs and headphones. If you want a quieter place you will need to sleep outside of the downtown core. Overall, we enjoyed our time in Sayulita.

The room was big, however, it was dark. There were no hangers for the shower towels, so they had to be spread out throughout the room. There was no staff when I arrived. There was one person that worked in the store next door that open the door of the hotel and my room. I was given no instructions and I was charged the wrong amount because she didn't work there. The next someone that worked in a nearby hotel came to the Papelillo Lofts to charge the remaining amount. There was no one in the hotel that worked there, only the cleaning lady.
At the end of my stay the property manager that I had contact only with WhatsApp messages, charged me $200 MXN pesos (appx. $10 DLR) for staining a face cloth. I did not stain it because the only face cloth that I used was still in the bathroom and it was perfectly fine. I tried to talk and explain that that wasn't my fault, but they insisted that I had to pay it anyway. I definitely don't recommend this property to anyone.
I loved staying here, we stayed in loft 3 and it was wonderful. The staff was very nice and even though there isn't a front desk they very promptly answered my messages through Expedia. The room was very clean and nice when we arrived. The cleaning service is phenomenal she was the sweetest women I've ever met. The staff doesn't speak english but we had no problems communicating with them using google translate or text messages. There was a fan in our room and with it on we couldn't hear any noise from outside which was great since the location is practically steps from the square and the taco stand with the best pastor in town is directly below you. We were literally 3 minutes from the beach, 2 from the square, and there was an Oxxo right across the street for snacks and water. This place was very well priced for how comfy the bed was, how nice the bathrooms were, and its location. Our loft didn't have a living room or kitchen but I know others do and ours did have a mini fridge and microwave. I wouldn't recommend this for a family with younger kids but for people in there twenties or families with kids 12 and up or a couple this is a great place if you're looking to be a short away from the best restaurants, the beach, and the night life this is the perfect place to stay. Not to mention the Wifi was also fantastic. After reading some reviews I was skeptical of how my stay would go but the amenities and service blew me and my boyfriend away.
Big, hip, spacious place in the heart of downtown. Close to everything, but also a bit noisy at night, so just be aware of that. The place was clean and nice. We enjoyed it.

Bad management
The place is nice though expensive I thought. But the management of the place was terrible. I could not pay with my credit card and had to assume more fees to pay with Paypal. The Internet was running at 1MB/sec, impossible to do zoom calls. I was supposed to get a refund for my 3rd night (I cancelled it to go elsewhere) and it has been 1 month and I am still chasing after my $. Its just not worth the trouble.
A completely different hotel than what was pictured. Do not stay

Pretty, but not practical
I chose this place because we were traveling with kids, and I don’t like to stay in hotels with them because they’re not tiny, but also not old enough to be in their own rooms. In that aspect, this place was great, because it had a king size bed downstairs and two twins in the loft, upstairs. The space was aesthetically beautiful. But you don’t stay in a hotel for style. You stay for there for sleeping, resting, and convenience. None of that was possible in this space.
It’s hard to find hotels that DONT have Wi-Fi, but I’ve definitely come across some in Mexico. I had two classes I was hoping to be able to take, on zoom, while here. I had paid for those classes. I was unable to take them because there was no Wi-Fi at all, during our entire stay. The guy, Jose (he was really nice), kept restarting the modem but it never did work during our entire stay, besides a short 3-hour window the first night.
They had 3 “air conditioners”, but only one (in the kids loft - I realized too late or I would have slept up there with them) worked. It was super hot and uncomfortable. Normally, I would have opened the windows to get SOME air and circulation in BUT there were cockroaches and I didn’t want any more coming in.
Shower was gross and water wouldn’t drain.
Lastly, it is EXTREMELY NOISY and you may as well be sleeping out on the balcony in the middle of party alley. No sound insulation whatsoever. Bring heavy duty earplugs and some serious sleeping pills.
