A really good welcome and a free car park (once reg entered onto system at Reception).
The double room was large and clean. As this is a heritage building, there is an impressively sloping - and creaking/squeaking - floor.
Luckily, I couldn’t hear much from the function room below, and nothing from the bar. But a lot of noise from other room’s plumbing and doors slamming can be heard in the room. Plus there is light from under the main room door so it may not be fire-safe. I’d recommend bringing ear plugs.
There’s an extensive ‘pub grub’ menu available on-site, and plenty of eateries nearby including a chippy opposite. Sainsbury’s is under 5 mins walk too.

The only issue is it lacks working space for business travellers as all the tables are too low down and many people have given the same feedback.
