"I had booked through hotels.com and had got a good b&b deal. It hadn't been made clear, though, that there would be a parking charge of ยฃ9. I was pleased that the receptionist reduced this to ยฃ6 which was a helpful gesture - apparently Ibis do not own or run the car park. The room and twin beds (made into a superking) were comfy. Having a socket by the mirror was useful; there was a lovely large shower cubicle. Good breakfast overall, though poor selection in cereals (eg no weetabix) and spreads (eg no marmite). Very nice scrambled egg (once I'd added s&p). No fried eggs as standard but when my husband asked for these they were made to order. Staff were friendly and helpful. I had already checked in online but I'm not clear what the point of that was so that was a waste of time. We had to wait a long time for the (very pleasant) receptiionist to be able to deal with us on arrival, where we had to check in and pay for parking. There was no self-check-in-kiosk."

"Checked into Leonardo Hotel Swindon today and they looked after me brilliantly โจ Got a lovely surprise upgrade โ huge, spacious room up on the 7th floor, spotlessly clean, with that classic warm decor they do so well. Best of all? A proper deep bath instead of just a shower โ total luxury after travelling! Staff were friendly, quick, and really welcoming. Great location, super comfortable, and exactly the steady base I needed. Proper good stay so far ๐ค๐"

"I was so impressed with our stay, we went to the gorgeously quirky pub in the evening after we checked in and felt immediately welcome amongst locals and visitors alike - a lovely community feel. The room was immaculately clean, unlike other pubs that Iโve stayed at and there was a basket-full of bits and pieces for a continental breakfast which was really handy in the morning. The landlord and landlady were so friendly, accommodating and genuine too. Our family of 4 stayed in a room with a double and 2 singles in a little wing next to the pub - no dragging bags and children up the stairs and quiet enough for the children to go to sleep before closing time for the pub. We didnโt eat in the restaurant as we arrived quite late but that looked very well presented and certainly had the novelty factor as a repurposed train carriage. We used the hotel as a base for going to Cheddar Gorge as it was much better value for money and only a 25min journey away. Iโm so glad we happened upon this characterful place instead of booking into a generic brand chain hotel. We would not only come back here if we were passing but would go out of our way to come back."

"Great location and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Room was ok bathroom needs modernisation and attention to detail such as more loo rolls and hand soap as not enough for the duration of our stay. Would stay again if the price doesnโt increase as I think itโs high end for what you get."
