"Directly opposite the Porta Nigra, with a hop-on bus stop just through the entrance to the monument. Very handy to everything
Good breakfast, helpful staff."
"Disappointing. The guy on reception was grumpy before I even spoke. No smile or welcome. When an issue was raised by him, which I was in disagreement with, my perception was he was condescending and misogynistic. He made me feel guilty and like I was an idiot. I am not those things, .He has no diplomacy and should not deal in front desk. The room he gave us was in the ground floor so you needed to keep curtains closed for privacy, thereby reducing natural light, as it was a busy residential corridor with many walking past."
"It was very well located. The rooms were very clean and quite spacious. Breakfast was plentiful and good. It would have been good to have a fridge in the bedroom as it was very hot during our stay. The staff was lovely."
"Very fine hotel, a place we like to come back to. Rooms are spacious, the only thing we missed was a water kettle and some large mucks to make an cup of tea (as we're are tea drinkers but coffee goes the same). The hotel knows where our rooms 341-342-343 are looking out over, a courtesy question of we had any problem with that would have given the option for us not having "this view" and others we do not mind could have been in these rooms."
"We were in one of the suites which was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was continental, of good quality and variety although we did not know the kitchen cooked eggs to order until the last morning. Our main issue was staff helpfulness. Staff were generally good but we had a real issue with the attitude of the hotel manageress. On our first night we booked into the restaurant and were shown to a table. Some minutes later the manageress advised this was booked by someone else which wasn't an issue as we were dining with friends one of whom is disabled and may have had an issue with the table allocated. I was trying to explain this and looking for a better option when she turned her back on me and started a conversation with someone else. Our German guests also encountered her on arrival and were not impressed with her manner or attitude which they felt was due to the fact she thought they were English. On our last night our room had not been serviced when we returned from our day out at 4pm. We approached the receptionist to report this and she was using the computer next to the manageress who made eye contact with me and then carried on doing what she was doing rather than ask how she could help. I waited a minute and then had to interupt to report the issue. Even when we returned later it had not been done and I had to stand at reception arguing with her before the matter was resolved. We paid a great deal of money to stay here but this level of service is not acceptable ."
