Our First Two Nights in Ecuador
This was our first trip to Ecuador. We stayed our first two nights at Lugano Hotel, and we had a very positive experience! We arranged for airport pickup through the hotel ahead of time, and after flying all night, it was a welcome sight to have a driver with my name on a paper waiting for us! The cost was reasonable, more convenient than finding a taxi, and our driver was very nice. The room at the hotel was clean and roomy. We had two bedrooms and two bathrooms with a small kitchen and living room. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The woman at the front desk (I wish I knew her name) was wonderful--very helpful, kind and patient with all of our questions!! She spoke English and helped arrange a tour for us and transportation during our stay. The included breakfast was good, and included a few hot items, as well as juice, toast, coffee, etc. The location is a little out of way from the new town, and the old town, but we were able to get taxis easily and inexpensively. My only complaint might be that the pillows were hard, lumpy and uncomfortable--the rest of my family didn't complain though:). Overall, a very good experience for our family.

Good location but noisy
It's a small hotel with a feeling of big hotel - staff were nice but a little cold. Suite style rooms, not stylish but somehow comfy. There are a lot of noises at nights (bars around) and during the day too.

We took a two week vacation with our two kids and stayed at Lugano, our suite was comfortable, clean and well maintained. Staff is great, and location is excellent. Great place to stay in Quito

Nice choice in a good area - five star staff
Great location, comfortable modern furnishings in the heart of Quito - tons if restaurant options, 2 blocks from the largest park in the city. The staff was AMAZING very helpful, warm and professional!!! Only issue there is renovating/construction going on to add a spa and other nice amenities...

Great boutique hotel near Carolina Park
Very nice hotel with kitchen and living room. Good breakfast was offered daily. Staff at front desk and porters were excellent. Only thing to improve would be the heating/temperature control in the room which vascillated between hot and cool. Otherwise, it was great.

Great choice for Quito
Very nice (and safe) place to stay in Quito, close to nice malls, parks, restaurants. Hotel suite was spacious for a family of five. Only suggestion is to make the breakfast a little better for non meat eaters

The rooms are modern and clean but extremely small. The neighborhood is better during weekdays, since during weekends everything seems to close down before 7. But generally we felt relatively safe

The hotel staff was very polite and professional. It helped greatly too that many spoke English to me. Security was always present 24/7. As far as the room it was well stocked and was quite nice. The view of the city of Quito was fun and we did enjoy it. Some things in the room need improvement on the cleaning. The curtains have not been washed anytime recently and were just dusty and yucky. Though the floor was generally swept daily the closet floor was skipped 2 days and had dirt on it and staff was notified and the problem was promptly fixed. We enjoyed our stay and also liked and appreciated the spa located next door!

Lugano Suites - Quito
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Hotel is new, clean, beds are comfortable & breakfast is very good. The location is excellent for restaurants, walks, malls, and seeing the city. Very close to La Carolina Park as a reference point. The price is very reasonable.

Good family choice for lodging
Very comfortable. Staff was gracious and helpful and honest. We inadvertently left an envelope with cash behind in the room and were very pleasantly surprised to have it returned upon returning to the hotel again a week later. No onsite restaurant but location was near many dining out options.

Nice hotel room but really tiny bathroom
I stayed only 1 night and the hotel is nice and clean. The suite had everything you need. The breakfast was very good. the only thing I didnt like was the bathroom. It was very small almost like an airplane bathroom. Although very clean with all the amenities that you will need.

Lugano Suites - Quito
All the staff in the hotel are friendly and readily answer any question or request you may have. Arrangements were made for us to be picked up at the airport and then back again when we left Quito. At breakfast, fresh fruit is always available. The hotel room is cleaned daily and bottled water is replaced in the fridge as needed. The flowers in the main lobby are gorgeous and a new arrangement is on display every few days. The penthouse terrace allows for a great view of the city. My husband and I will certainly stay at Lugano Suites the next time we are in Quito.

Great location! Walking distance to many places. We were a total of 5 and it worked out great for us using the sofa bed. Restrooms are tiny so getting dressed without mirrors in bedroom was difficult but we still managed. Would stay here again!!

Great hotel in a safe location outside downtown
Hotel staff was friendly and always there to help. The taxi driver outside the hotel (Fabian) was courteous and always available to drive his clients to anywhere in town. The rooms are spacious and clean and would definitely stay here again.

Very clean, mini suites. Nice Staff. The staff rranged for a driver, Fabian, to Otavlo and Cotacachi. He is a wonderful guide to these cities, mkts. very professional nd personable person=Highly recommended.Thehotel is within walking distance of a nice Italian restaurant. The staff also printed out bording passes for the flight to Cuenca. Fabian also took us to the airport the next morning at 5:30 am for our flight.

Great Clean Hotel For Arrival in Quito
Choose this hotel for a good night sleep after arriving in Quito. It was excellent. Very clean, double room suite. Helpful front staff, ready to greet us even at 1 a.m. Good breakfast. Highly recommend.

Very nice historic hotel in beautiful area of town
We stayed in the family room for our first 2 nights in Peru. The room was a great value as it was large enough for my husband, me and our 2 adult daughters. The hotel is a historic mansion, so it has lots of character - We loved the inner courtyards and the fountains! Breakfast (included in the price) was very good and the waitstaff was attentive. The hotel is gated for security, though Miraflores was a safe area of Lima. We walked to "El Parque de Amor" on the beach and to the restaurant in the Incan pyramid (after dark) and felt very safe. We did have to take a taxi to the town center and historic sites, but it took only about 15 minutes. Worth it to stay in a safe and modern area of town.

Nice hotel, clean rooms, comfortable beds and bathrooms. Great hotel staff; english and spanish, service was excellent! Breakfast was above average and be sure to check out the terrace on the top floor; great view and conveniences like a grill, heater, patio and bathroom. Located 1 block from the parque and walking distance (2-6 blocks) from great restaurants and shopping. Very responsive to inquiries and requests.

A nice short term option
The Lugano is a nice hotel in a safe area of Quito. The TV in our room was a 22 inch computer monitor that I felt was a bit small. The staff are friendly and responsive. They only gave us one small bottle of water for two people any additional was $1.50 which I thought was a bit skimpy for an upper end hotel. Other hotels in the area typically give each person a bottle of water. Since the old airport has closed, the Lugano is very quiet since it is not on the flight path.

Great Find in Quito
We stayed two nights between trip to Galapagos and Amazon, and one night after returning from Amazon before flying back to US. Stayed in two bedroom suite. Very nice kitchen area, sitting area in central area between two rooms. Bathroom was small - but fine. Bed and pillows were very hard. Not on a major street - which is good - because street noise (traffic, car alarms) can be quite loud in Quito. Get a map before going - both taxi drivers from airport had a difficult time finding. Very good hot breakfast was included. Hotel stored luggage we didn't want to take to Amazon free of charge. Also arranged an executive car service to take us to the airport for the same cost as a taxi ($25). Safe neighborhood. Market close by to pick up snacks/drinks. And several nice restaurants within two blocks. The only annoyance was we asked for a late check-out and they wanted 15% of the room charge. So, we just checked out, left all of our bags with the bellman, then came back when it was time to get the car service to the airport.

Comfort and safety in Quito
Staff were wonderful and friendly. Facilities were good, although the shower could have had better water pressure and flow. It is in a safe area of Quito which is an enormous plus within easy walking distance of a great supermarket which makes the kitchen facilities very useful. Once the new airport is operational you will not hear the airplanes. I would definitely recommend this hotel as it had internet, great TV and wonderful staff.

Clean Buy Noisy...
The hotel is VERY clean! The people and service were Wonderful! Quito is a loud city! It has to be heard to be believed. We had booked for five nights but decided to leave Ecuador after we were robbed in the Old Town district 15 minutes after arriving there by taxi. Carry only $50 (and not all in one place on your person)... one credit card and a COPY of your passport. Leave your REAL passport, bank cards, cash, drivers license and other credit cards back at the hotel in the safe or a safe place. ... Oh!... and try not to look like a tourist... Don't open maps, don't wear a back pack or flash a cell phone or electronic devices about.

Lugano Suites Hotel - excellent
This appartment hotel is very nice. Good location near public Trole and Carolina Park and near shopping centers of Quito. Very clean!!! The suites are very big with functional kitchen. Transportation provided to and from the airport. The guest business office area has two computers with internet access and free WiFi in rooms. Breakfast is included and very good with juices, fruit, bread selections, coffee, tea, cheese, meats, three hot selections, cereals. The service was outstaning. The bed is comfortable.The staff is very courteous and helpful, and the reception was staffed by an English-speaker at all times. The hotel arranged reliable and free transfers to the airport.

Wonderful hotel! We had a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom suite which was perfect for the 4 of us on our girlfriend getaway to Ecuador. The bedrooms were spacious enough for 2 people and the bathroom was well stocked with towels and robes. The complimentary breakfast was great. We had a variety of breads, rolls, cheeses, fruits, eggs and juices. It's not far from the airport and located between the new and old town. The staff was very helpful when it came to calling cabs, making dinner reservations, directions, etc. If you are staying in Quito, I would highly recommend Lugano Suites! With complimentary breakfast and airport shuttle, this place can't be beat!

Not a high traffic neighborhood, which was great. Close enough to airport but not so close to be noisy. Very good value for the price. Would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed staying at these suites on our way, both coming and going from the Galapagos. It was great to be near the airport, and the transportation arranged to/from the suites was exactly as promised. We walked all around the neighborhood - shopping at the MegaMaxi for both take out and items for snacks. The breakfast was very tasty, and the staff were very friendly. The front hotel staff were helpful with maps, etc. We enjoyed the botanical gardens and walked to / from the center of town on a Sunday - lots of people out and about enjoying the weekend. While we weren't particularly bothered by this, the airplane flight path is over this area of Quito, so just be aware if you are a light sleeper. Overall - good value, clean, and it was nice to have the kitchen and dining area separate from the bedroom.

Great location - if you need to be by the airport
The hotel itself was really comfortable and well kept. It is quite new so everything is modern and the staff is very accomodatinig. They do provide a tasty complimentary breakfast in the morning. One criticism would be that there were no burners for the hot food so invariably the eggs or meats would be cold and the staff was not very swift in replenishing the items. I would also recommend that if you are a light sleeper you either come with ear plugs or ask not to have rooms ending in #3. Why? Not only do the flights into the airport start around that time but there is a large dog that invariably barks from 6:30 am in the morning until 9pm at night. The location near the airport was great for us since there is only 1 daily Continental flight to Houston and it leaves at 6:40am so being 15 minutes away really helped. But if you want to be in the thick of things, either Old Town Quito or New Town (Mariscal), you might consider another location. Traffic in Quito is awful so taking a taxi is mandatory and whilst fares are really cheap, sittiing in traffic ingesting fumes is not the most pleasant experience. Overall I liked Lugano Suites and would recommend it.

I was happy with the concierge service. On my return trip which I stayed one night, they called for take out for me and arranged everything. They also arranged a taxi to get me to the airport at 4:30 am, and brought me yogurt, apple, and cereal since I would miss the buffet. However, on both days that I was there, 2 weeks apart, the bathroom did not appear to be cleaned. There was hair, including pubic hair, on the floor, on the toilet, and in the bathtub. I had to clean it before using it. My sheets had a few hair in them too. My first time there and had a two bedroom suite and one of the bedrooms the window was broken and opened and it made the hotel freezing. Lots of noise with construction and planes. Only 10 min away from airport.

Quito's best suite hotel......PERIOD!!!
I can not fully express the feeling that I get when I walk back into Lugano Suites. Every time I have been back, the staff remembers my name, my likes, my preferences and makes my stay a wonderful "feels like coming home" experience. If you are not staying here you are truly missing out.

Best Hotel in QUITO
I have stayed in Quito many times and this little boutique hotel has them all beat for rate, cleanliness, attentive staff, and personal service hands down. All of the staff is extremely helpful, always smiling and trying to assist. The management is helpful and expedient in their tasks. Lugano Suites is in the center of the action if you want it. I give this hotel 5 stars and would give it more if I could.
