"Room was spacious, lovely freestanding bath, large shower room, comfy bed but would have liked feather pillow choice. Room clean but dust in places especially breakfast room fireplace and not open on a sunday evening. Had pancakes for breakfast 1st morning, beautiful crepes & hot runny syrup, ordered the 2nd day and got thick undercooked American pancakes with thick syrup, left unimpressed. "

"Awful mattress with a big dip in the middle, noisy if you are facing the railway track, its in the middle of nowhere. "

"Not great for the money, spend another 20 quid and get a better room somewhere else. 1 towel No shampoo or soap and no heat as it was shut off. Breakfast was a few biscuits, a wrapped croissant and a couple of boxes of cereal, meh at best. "

"Lovely room, clean and a homey feel to it. The bed is a superking size and super comfy!! Hosts were very friendly and helpful. We only had a light breakfast, which included lots of choices (cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit etc). We would definitely recommend Orchard house!"

"The staff are lovely and helpful. I did not think the room we had could be classed as superior because the bed has an old fashioned type of mattress which is not comfortable. For a superior room I was expecting a bigger more comfortable bed. We could not open the window at night because it is very low down and wild life could easily get through at night. The buffet breakfast is quite basic, there were no croissants or pastries of any kind. The location is absolutely beautiful . The staff are great but for the price I was a little disappointed . "

"Fire alarm went off twice early on the Sunday morning with heavy smoke caused by blocked chimney in the restaurant area - we decided to leave rather than stay for breakfast in a smoke filled room and was told we would receive a refund, but a refund was never provided."

"Easy check in, suitable room. WiFi didn't work, TV and remote didn't work, radiators needed bleeding and were very noisy"

"I am sorry to say that our stay was unexpectedly very bad. Even as we checked in the property was cold. There was NO HEATING and no HOT WATER. After many tephone calls we were told that the we boiler was not functioing. We were given grossly inadequate heaters which did little to correct the situation. It completely wrecked the evening which was the celebration of my wife's 70th Birthday. Our first night was a nightmare with no ability for us and our guests to have shower for two full days even after the boiler was fixed late evening on the second day. In the absence of the hot water, even the addition of the two stable rooms, my guests have we complained to me bitterly. 7 of us were elderly guests with health issues and a 2.5 year old baby, so you can imagine the risks we were subjected to. There were water leaks in two of the bathrooms. Wendy the site manager did her best to help. Took on personal responsibility to solve the issue, but in the absence of effective technical help, she wasn't able to resolve the issues. I demand a full refund of my payment as the basic nessecities were not provided, and we had no option to find suitable alternative accommodation for so many guests at such a short notice. "
