"Very nice property and an outstanding staff 15 minutes from Vik. The hotel is about a two minute drive from the main road. Loved the birds along the 2 minute drive to the hotel."

"I stayed in a new building which was very nice. Comfortable bed and bathroom. Nice desk to sit and plan my travels. Breakfast was wonderful. Only downside was the thin walls. I could hear my neighbor cough, sneeze, hang their coat on the hanger."

"Our room was in a wing that appeared to have been added. The room was incredibly small, it had two twin beds shoved up against the wall with about 2 feet between them. The entire room including the bathroom was about 8 by 50 feet, yet was about $ 325+/ night USD."

"Okay. Place was very clean, amenities were good to great, location is nice. But dear Lord the doors. All the room doors have door closers that are set to slam the living daylights out of the door in the last 6 inches of the swing, so when people enter or exit their rooms (which happens about 5 times a minute) there is the equivalent of a sonic boom that reverberates through the entire hostel. It actually got so bad it became comical. I don’t know if it’s an oversight or some form of passive aggression to ensure guests leave smartly, but in the context of a place where the chief activity is sleep, one wonders how this could have been overlooked."

"Check in procedure instructions were a mixed bag. Was told to call to get codes, but no one answered, and codes to enter had been sent earlier. Also, nowhere on website does it say that breakfast is included! That's great, but we had already prepared for no on-site breakfast (since it is advertised as a no-staff hotel)."

"I've traveled to many beautiful places, but this remote gem was truly special for so many reasons. The Garage sits right in front of a waterfall, surrounded by sheep and two of the sweetest dogs who happily greet guests upon arrival. The owner, Anna, was welcoming and informative during check-in. One of the most memorable touches was the homemade cakes and desserts she bakes for guests, you can stop by throughout your stay and enjoy a treat whenever you'd like. We stayed in a charming studio that wasn't overly fancy, but it was filled with thoughtful details that made it unforgettable. My favorite was a matchbox that, when opened, revealed tiny stuffed mice tucked into little blankets and pillows. It was such a special touch and something children would absolutely adore.I won't ever forget this stay. I'm so glad we decided to add an extra night because this area was spectacular. The property feels wonderfully secluded, yet it's only a few minutes drive from some of Iceland's most famous waterfalls. A truly magical experience."
