I requested 2 rooms with 2 beds each. Received only one room with 2 beds. Requested as close as possible to the beach, received as far as can be. On a daily basis had to request a change of towels, and only one bath towel per person was provided.
Beach is VERY nice. Live music and the hotel is close to everything.

Lovely setting with it being practically on the beach, and a really nice white sand beach it was! There is a huge menu to explore. The food was good. Breakfast buffet was ok.
The hotel staff were helpful and happy but SOME of the Catering waiters were below what I’d expect, miserable. (Maybe because the service charge was on the bill). The room was nice; the floor was quite gritty with sand which I can sort of understand as it is hard with it being a beach hotel but also the side above the bed was rather Dusty which I noticed when I put my phone there briefly. Overall the location, food and bean bags on the beach made it a good stay but I won’t rush back.
Nice unique room with the bathroom/entry on the first floor and sleeping area up a set of steps. Not good if you have bad knees or a problem with steps.
A second room that I got after extending my stay was a mosquito infested room on a second floor with way worse steps. Was able to upgrade to a nicer room, thankfully.
Zero stars for the mosquito room if I ended up with that!
Nice rooms, amazing location, very good breakfast and beautiful beach front

Overpriced and average
The hotel was ok but for the cost below average. Small bedroom with minimum privacy as ground floor with windows overlooking entrances into the hotel! Took fairly minimal. Bed mattress over form. Pillows bulky. Breakfast poor quality.
Romms and location were great.
They wiffi wasn't great we had to go back to the lobby to get signal.
Breakfast was avarage but the night bbq is excellent.
This may be the nicest property in Koh Samet. We stayed in the newer block in the back. Not a great view of some bamboo, but that was fine. Being in the back meant our room was quiet. Expect an occasional mosquito in the room. The water pressure in the shower wasn’t great or hot enough for me. The bed is very comfortable. Breakfast was quite nice, with many options. Good strong coffee. The restaurant didn’t always have everything listed in the menu, like ice cream. All the staff were pleasant. We enjoyed the live musician and fire show at night. Overall, two nights in Koh Samet is just right. The beach is nice but there’s not that much to do here. I read that the island hopping excursions were a disappointment to many so we just stayed in the island and had a nice massage nearby.
Breakfast was terrible , rooms are very basic and air con poor, no telephone in the room , said sea view but trees blocking the view , if you think about booking this hotel , think again
Hopping off a Speedboat onto a Beach to get to the hotel.

Hotel location is excellent right on the beach. Staff were very pleasant and polite. Great fire show on the beach every night. However, during the day the beach is very crowded with a lot of Chinese tourists. We got into a taxi and went to quieter beaches a bit further along the coastline. Also to many speed boats as well on that particular beach. Rooms could also do with updating. Apart from that we had a great time on the island and will definitely be returning again.

Stay here when in Samet
This is the best place you can stay in my opinion on Koh Samet. It is in the perfect location and the staff is wonderful for the most part.

Dear Dan
Thanks for your compliment and happy to hear that you have a great time during stayed here.Hope to see you again in the further.
Beds are like concrete. Full of Russians. Hidden costs every where you go. Tourism has ruined a lovely Island. Taxi drivers are rude and aggressive. Avoid!!!
I was not impressed with the Resort at all. First the reception is hidden at the back of the entrance.
The reception staff could only find one booking for me although I had done 3 different rooms. They eventually found the other bookings through Hotels.com. They are not at all fluent in English and very hard to understand each other. When we asked for two room cards, they said they couldn't print us one at that time which made it very inconvenient. I was very disappointed with the ad on Hotels.com as the double classic rooms were not advertised that they could be made singles, so as my party had to have two singles I booked a Thai cottage instead of 3 double classic rooms. Only to discover we could all have stayed near each other in the newer block. The Thai cottage is old, dark and stuffy and I really didn't enjoy it. Full of mosquitos !!!!!!!. Couldn't even sit on verandah as the mosquitos nearly carried us away. The housekeeping only brought us a mosquito machine on our last night there! I found the staff very unfriendly .The beach was beautiful. The sea clear and sand soft and fine. But the bean bags on the beach instead of loungers were terrible. A lot of the polystyrene was being dropped from broken bags onto beach. They so uncomfortable. Really bad idea. There is no swimming pool and when we asked where the snooker table was as advertised. Was told there wasn't one !! The one good thing , it was right near the town and easy to do shopping and eating out.
Overall very happy with the experience. Staff wer nice and helpful. I’ve been coming to koh samed for the last 10 years, and this was the best hotel accommodation I’ve received while on the island.
The hotel is located right on the best beach of the island. We lived in a cottage which had a sea view, that was the best time in Thailand.

Overpriced with Terrible Service
Considering the hefty price, one would expect top notch food and service to compliment the value for your money but not so here... The past 4 months of holidaying in Thailand from Australia we have stayed in over 15 different hotels and in all honesty, Samed Grandview easily was the worse service and value for money.. The Breakfast was terrible and the hotel employs/exploits the employment of many Cambodian and Myanmar personnel whom not only lack basic communication skills but with it comes terrible service...!
Give credit where credit is due, however credit is far from due in my honest review.. If you wish to be well overcharged for your hotel stay with terrible service to match, this is the place...!!
Beautiful hotel. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast very good!!

Good for value but lack of decent services
Some front desk staffs only speak Thai so guest would need to be patient for assistant. Room and housekeeping has prompt service. The beach is nice, local food has a couple options at the main street.
The room was on the far back of the property near the highway bad bad wi-fi. There was a leak in front of the toilet, never had a toilet paper holder in the bathroom the paper sat on the tank, towel rack was 8 feet from the shower. The room was way over rated, better check you connections. Never stay there again.

Not so 'Grand' on the inside
The hotel is located on a rather busy and exploited part of the island.
{There are more beautiful and serene locations you could opt for, in Koh Samet)
After booking via Hotels.com requesting for specific rooms, we weren't given the same on our arrival.
The staff is plain rude (with exceptions of a few)
Air Con in one of our rooms wasn't functional and after several complaints and 2 sleepless nights, they decided to give us an alternate room.
Food and drink at the restaurant is a bit overpriced in comparison with other restaurants in the vicinity.
Overall, definitely not worth the price for the quality and service you receive.
Grand looks can be deceiving; not so beautiful on the inside

This hotel had a great location. Enjoyed our stay there. The garden view rooms need updating a lick of paint etc. The 1 plus I have about the place was the staff were fantastic and very friendly could. It fault them.
Everything about the Samed Grandview was excellent 10/10, Great Location on beach, superb breakfast overlooking the sea, friendly staff, Close to the village, No complaints, except weak WiFi - Ken Mallorca
