Hotel Hirsch

"The Hirsch is a great little hotel centrally located in Fussen. It is very charming, has a great restaurant and beer garden and allows for walking to local shops and restaurants and is a short drive to the castles. My only issue with the hotel is the lack of air-conditioning in hotel rooms. We were there in July and it was very hot. We were told that the room had air-conditioning, but there are no air vents in the room and when we questioned the staff, they said there are water pipes in the ceiling that help cool the room. We ended up sleeping with the windows open as temperatures dropped in into the 60s at night, but due to the noise in the early morning we had to shut them and it gets uncomfortably hot quickly. I would absolutely stay at the Hirsch hotel again, but not during the summer months when it is so hot."

"The hotel was situated in the middle of the main square/street close to everything. Room was nice and breakfast was good. The restaurant was excellent, best place in town. The location was convenient close to the castle and train station, where you catch the bus to Neuschwanstein. I highly recommend staying here."

"We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was a typical small European hotel/pension. And was a different hotel experience for my family who are used to large chain hotels. This property was simple, clean and sufficient for our needs to visit a beautiful area close to the Bavarian castles. There is no air conditioning or fans in the rooms so it can be quite warm during the summer. We were able to open the windows to enjoy the breeze but there were no screens on the windows so we did have to contend with some black flies during July. The property is a short walk away from the Lech River where there is a rock beach for kids to run, skip rocks and enjoy some open space. If we ever return to the area, we will certainly consider this property again!"
