The Westin St. Thomas Beach Resort & Spa
5/5 Excellent
"The Westin itself was 10/10. Beautiful hotel, very clean, modern, friendly staff. The restaurants had nice views. Every meal I had was delicious. Expensive food, you're looking around $50/person for an entree and a cocktail. But that's average for the area. The beach you can either walk down a ton of steps or take the shuttle to its sister resort (Buoy haus) next door and walk out to the beach there. I recommend the shuttle. The water reminds me of Florida, blue/green, cloudy, nothing spectacular. The beach has tiny rocks you have to get past in order to enjoy the water. The beach to the left of the bouy haus restaurant looks beautiful but do not go in, there are so many big rocks its extremely difficult to get in/out and you will get cut up. You can take a taxi to Magen's Bay (15 min ride) and enjoy the beautiful beach there. We also took the ferry to St. Johns and went to trunk bay beach- highly recommend, gorgeous beach. No hotels are built on the popular beaches so you have to be ok with taking a taxi. If you want to shop, you have to go during the day as the shops close around 6pm. At night there is nothing to do. We went into town for dinner and everywhere around us was closed. We had no where to go after. We ventured out to Margaritaville one night and that was also dead. We did ask the bartender if we wanted to have a drink somewhere, where would we go? She suggested RedHook (St. Johns Ferry) bc the bars stay open until 2am. "
