There is no before/after hours key-drop at this facility and no directions given at the time of check-in should the need arise. I called the desk, no answer, no forwarded line. The after-hours number was not answered until the 3rd call. A key drop may come in handy for guests going forward, The restaurant was also closed on the day of my stay - this also would have been nice to know at the time I made the reservation. Thank goodness for Subway,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We have a limited staff and hours for the front desk as well as the restaurant. When a guest informs us that they will be arriving after our front desk closes, we do have an after hour key drop.

Great location in the woods by the lake. Central lodge area very convivial. We stayed in a lodge room rather than a cabin which was rather dated and a bit tired with uncomfortable bed. No housekeeping service during 4 night trip which I was not aware would be the case.

People blocking boat landing so had to load boat up in shallow area very difficult also uneven when backing in the water . The person that owned the boat was there and seen that we were coming in put his boat in deepest part of the launch area.

Exceptional staff from the moment we walked in they made sure we knew where everything was and how to get around the property. It is an older property, built in the 70's, but it was very clean.

The resort is everything anyone could ask for , it in on a inland lake where you could bring your boat ,and fish or swim. There is tennis courts swiming pool weight room. The stall are great, and the food in the resterrant is really good.

Happy accident getting a room for a night when my car died in Rhinelander. Staff couldn't be more welcoming and friendly. Coffee shop and supper club in resort, so not having car was no problem. Shopped for hodags at the cute gift shop and just relaxed with a view of the lawn, trees and shore of the lake. Reliable wifi so I could get some work done too. Everything smells truly clean, not that gross fake smell that makes you think the bed linens got sprayed down instead of washed. Head and shoulders better value for business traveler than the up north chains. i am coming back here for a proper vacation!!

I liked the peace and quiet. And i heard a loon laughing in early morn but it would've been nice to have a view of the beautiful lake. Excellent steak dinner and dessert!!

Not very good. Overrated and expensive.
Expensive for the room condition and amenities. A/C was at 54 degrees when I entered the room and could not be adjusted. Staff unplugged the unit because could not be fixed. WiFi did not work anywhere for anyone on the premises. Not a glitch; more like a feature. TV did not work. Finally, I insisted on getting a different room although staff was reluctant.

Awesome place. Glad I found this place. Everyone was extremely friendly and was traveling with my new puppy Dinner was great there The bartender, Jackie, absolutely amazing and made my stay even better. Great conversation and an amazing person

Holiday Acres seems like the camp you’ve been going to all your life. Who cares if the plants hanging in front of the windows of the dining room are dead, or that the king bed in Room 204 is so bowed toward the center that you can barely hold on. It’s on a lovely lake property with many opportunities for outdoor activities, a suitable dining room with a decent dinner menu and full bar. Honestly, it just seems tired. Or maybe I’m just not a lake country girl. But we got switched to a room where the bed didn’t sag and the a/c worked, and will go on our way today. The prices were fine. Carol (fd) and Roger (Gen Mgr?) were friendly and accommodating. Enough to say I would stay here again.

Awesome Cabin Located in the WI NorthWoods!
My daughter & a friend and I stayed in one of the private double cabins right on the water. We had our own dock (amazing night sky & star gazing) & fire pit. The cabin kitchen was well stocked with dishes & utensils for cooking & everything was clean! We weren't prepared for there to not be comforters on the beds so - it was a bit cold for sleeping. The staff was very friendly & easy to work with! We took advantage of the indoor pool, wifi, cable TV, & visited the on-site gift shop. Highly recommend! This was a great find & a gorgeous fall visit in mid October.

Property is in a beautiful setting, the guest lodge Is a little outdated but still very nice. The Friday night fish fry was very good. We enjoyed our 2 day stay.

Great relaxing Getaway!
For the most part we had a totally relaxing and fun stay at Holiday Acres. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The beds were uncomfortable though. Overall, I definitely recommend this place and intend to come back!

This is our 4th year coming here, and we love it! The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the bottile floor room we just had even had a little patio with a view of the lake. The staff is beyond amazing, Carol and everyone is beyond accomodating and so extremely friendly! We look forward to our trip there every year :)

Holiday acres was such a great experience and felt like a step back in time. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. Our room was clean and cozy, and loved being able to look out onto the beautiful grounds from our window. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

Great getaway

Unplug and enjoy!!!
If you want to travel back in time to the time when your family packed into a station wagon, drove for a few hours, then opened the door and said, "Now, go have fun!" then this is the place. Set in the middle of Rhinelander (upper state of Wisconsin), this is a must see. A wonderful family has had this resort in their family for 70 years, and I just cannot say enough about them. These are real people. They have all the great manners that are taught in hospitality school, but these are genuinely thoughtful folks. The place is 70 years old... yet immaculate!! When I had lost my earring (that I purchased at their shop), the room maid offered to help me, then, later, inquired if I had found it! Thanks! Besides the staff, there's the activities. Each day a few to choose from, wagon rides through the woods, movies outside (or in if weather is not cooperative), water sports, tennis, volleyball, yoga outside... And, the cafe, restaurant, and bar were also a treat. The evening of our first breakfast (delicious) we found out the cook was actually the owner. Our waiter was an interesting young fellow, friendly and helpful, and quite intelligent. We'll be back next summer, and will bring our grandkids!!! Thank you Holiday Acres!
