"This is a hidden gem that I literally stumbled upon. This area is famous for agriculture so the food was sourced locally and amazing. The staff is international so even if you don't speak much Japanese you will be fine. It is peaceful and fun to walk around the area. We even met a young tomato and melon farmer who showed us his greenhouse. It was like staying in a ancient Japanese palace in a very local village. "Was there mid week and it was very quiet so we had the run of all the onsen, all of them have great views. The staff were very friendly, food was great, a thoroughly enjoyable trip!"
"I recommend Genjikoh for the amazing Japanese experience of enjoying the open bath overlooking the ocean and the various activities in the hotel such as the scent workshop. We booked a room for 5 and it was spacious and was pleasantly surprised it has 2 toilets. The sea view was breathtaking. We don’t book the meals as we don’t eat raw food but we had difficulty finding a good eatery outside as there are few amenities nearby and they close early. This place is great for those who drive but inaccessible otherwise even though the hotel has a shuttle bus. We are glad we had a rental car and could enjoy this great ryokan experience!"
"Did not have a great time at this place. It is more suited to retired old Japanese people who want to go to the onsen. Felt a bit uncomfortable as we were the only westerners there but people were friendly. While the view was good from our room, the beach was dirty and not maintained. If the hotel would have paid someone to clean the beach up every morning it would’ve been a better experience."

A receptionist woman was not friendly. Staffs at Buffet looked tired and they didn't smile. There was nearly no table service.
I used a humidifier in a room. Then, my room started to smell terrible.

Bath facilities was excellent. They added a stone sauna. The basket to carry was useful. The yukata set was convenient. Pick up service from ferry port was super helpful. The variety of buffet was impressive, but somehow, things tasted better 2 years ago. .
