Rhonda is a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome. Rooms are charming and thoughtful decorated in a home with a long history. Plenty of street parking near house. We spent the evening on J Street and found a wonderful coffee house nearby the next morning. Great location on the edge of downtown Sacramento and a wonderful experience.

The venue was represented as a Bed and Breakfast on Expedia. The listed amenities included breakfast, The host explained it was not a Bed and Breakfast but a short-term rental. No breakfast was forthcoming. Moreover, the room did not have a bathroom but a shared bathroom down the hall that was not disclosed. The room was also unusually small. Finally, the room had a check-in after 4:30 and a checkout before 10AM. The home was beautiful but the experience of staying there was disappointing,

We stayed in the Alice and wonderland room. The room was so cute and had so much personality. The whole house is amazing with so much history and unique decor. It feels like you are staying in a piece of history while still having some of the amenities that make things comfortable like a TV, comfy bed, and a fridge/microwave.

This was such a wonderful stay! This little house was by far the cutest place I’ve ever stayed in. The design aspect was wonderful and so well thought out and executed!!! Really felt like a luxury experience that could’ve been in the heart of France, you’d never know the difference!!! Quiet, and in a great location I couldn’t recommend staying here more!!! Rhonda is a friendly host and the Harbinger House is cozy and safe. Perfect for me as a single traveler! The house is amazing and filled with carefully curated, whimsical decor. Modern fixtures in the bath and shower play well with the otherwise vintage feel of the home. Parking is easy and access to midtown and the freeway was great. I loved walking to breakfast and seeing the beautiful homes, and being there during the Christmas season was a treat!

Staying here was incredible! You're walking into and sleeping in a pure artistic dream! Every detail in the interior design of the Harbinson House brings pure joy to your senses. Not only are you surrounded by artistic fantasy, you experience the comfort of a cloudy soft bed and linens. Rhonda ensured that every detail of my stay exceeded my expectations. This is a magical place. Everything is beautifully decorated and curated. There are little special details everywhere. The host was extremely kind and welcoming. There were little high quality amenities like water bottles, toothbrushes, soaps, snacks, etc. We stayed in the French room and the bed was cozy and comfortable. I wish I had stayed here for a week instead of just one night. Highly recommend!!

Mother-daughter weekend

What a wonderful stay! I booked it through hotels.com, but it's more of a B&B. The host is wonderful, and accommodating, and you can tell she truly loves offering these rooms and experiences to her guests. There are thoughtful touches everywhere; finding water in the fridge, ear plugs in the immaculate bathroom, etc. The historic home has been beautifully and eclectically decorated, and the veranda is lovely to relax on at night. I will most definitely stay here again, and will also recommend it to others.

I stayed at the Harbinson House for a few nights while I was in town for some concerts. The property was lovely, and the owner was an absolute delight, very friendly and told me a lot about the house, the Harbinsons, and the area. I stayed in the Alice in Wonderland room which was magical, the decor all around the house too was incredible and very eclectic. The bathroom was awesome too, shower was great, the provided toiletries felt luxurious, and I'm a bigger girl so it was a plus that there were bigger bath towels. Definitely would consider staying here again if I'm ever back in the area.

Alice Through the Looking Glass

Rhonda's place is exquisite. The details in the Alice in Wonderland room were incredible. I needed something far removed from a standard chain hotel. I needed peace and quiet. It was perfect. I grew up in Sacramento, and the house is in one of my favorite neighborhoods, walking distance to food. I loved it!!!
