"I did not have time nor the zeal to visit the beach nor the pool and didn't want to. There is some silly rule that everyone must make a $10 downpayment when a cab is called from the front desk and its returned when the can gets to the hotel - unfortunately, the night security guard couldnt provide me with change as i gave him a $20 and after waiting too long for the cab, he refused to return the money. i had to snatch it back from him to get back my cash and in return i was presented with a resounding barrage of expletives. Very distasteful and i really didn't want to stay there. the rooms are large but very very dated and half the stuff in the room don't work - blown bulbs and broken dusty, stained jaccuzzi. Its not a well-maintained property with unfriendly staff. "
The Atrium Beach Resort and Spa, an Ascend Collection Resort
8/10 Good
"Happy to leave a positive review of this property. Whilst it has clearly been around for some time. A decent attempt at upgrades is evident especially in the rather spacious rooms.
Many new appliances were evident which made those not replaced stick out even more.
No issues with water pressure or temperature. There were no issues with internet or TV and the air conditioning worked perfectly.
There is grill opposite called Lees and 5 minutes walk towards the main road is a large supermarket and a fast food spot. Traffic noise isn't an issue but if planes bother you their sounds end usualy by 7pm. There are 2 elevators but given the aged look of the "out of order" sign on one of them.... well."
"The resort was beautiful! The rooms were spacious and well equipped. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside was the seaweed at the beach. "
"Our Suite was very spacious and had a beautiful view of the ocean. Staff were friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast delivered warm croissants daily. Overall a lovely experience"
"Cheapest big hotel available in St Marten but a bit dark and depressing. Staff seemed very different and less well trained than in a normal Hilton.
Only one small restaurant and bar with limited choice. "
