Perhaps even better than the hotel is the nature reserve in which it's located. The drive up the mountain is long and somewhat difficult, but well worth it."

"What a great camping site. We stayed there 4 nights and were impressed with our accommodation and the site. It had lots of amenities and the pool was a nice refresh after being in the hot sun. It's also in a fab location for exploring the local area."

The only negative I have is that the gate at the road to the actual residential building is unmarked, unlit and several kilometers from the main gate (which is marked and lit at night), making a late night check in (in the dark) very difficult. "We visited four very different parts of Italy and our stay at Fattoria Lavacchio may have been our favorite. One important thing to know that was a little tricky to figure out was that you check-in at “Casabella”. The property belonging to Fattoria Lavacchio includes multiple buildings spread along 1km or so of the road. Our room ended up being an apartment about 300m from Casabella (the building in the pictures here with the pool). There was not traditional a/c but we didn’t need it with the fans and air coolers they provided. We also loved sleeping with the windows wide open and no need for screens because no bugs!! Even in the hottest part of the summer!! We love star gazing at night, cooking class overlooking the winery, horseback riding, and dinner on the patio by the pool. We also enjoyed the breakfast with fresh juices and jams made there at Fattoria Lavacchio. They also make their own olive oil. We felt very relaxed and refreshed after our visit there. Wish we could have stayed longer!"
