Ho prenotato la sera e ricevuto conferma di prenotazione. La mattina seguente, già in viaggio mi chiama la struttura dicendomi che la pompa artesiana era rotta e non poteva accogliermi. Ho chiesto una soluzione sostitutiva che non ha trovato, mi ha pure chiesto di cancellare la prenotazione, cosa che non ho fatto. Ero con la famiglia e ho dovuto arrangiarmi! Scandaloso!

Montefolchi Mountain Top Magic

This accommodation is a great base to explore Chianti, this huge farm house surrounded by olive groves sits atop a small mountain and oozes history back to the medieval times and beyond. Our family of 6 were comfortable in the 5 bedroom house. All services are sufficient but it's very old which is what we loved about Montefolchi. There is no air con but a huge fire place and we had some unwelcome mosquitoes which host Simone said he'd take care of. This was our oasis to marvel at the sunsets each day and enjoy the serenity. The 200+ degree view was amazing to wake up to and see the night fall after long busy days in Sienna and Florence. We would eat out evening meal out doors under the Tuscan sunsets. You check in at host, Simone's family's winery at the castle below Castello Il Palagio. +39 055 821 630 and are met by Simone and his friendly staff. The castle has wine tasting and more and we purchased Truffle Oil, Grappa, Pinot Grigio, Chianti and sparkling wines. 15% discount at the cellar door shop is available for guests. If you have questions about this beautiful grand old farm house host, Simone is a wealth of knowledge since it and other properties his family manage have been in their family for generations. We’ll be back for sure!
