The location is perfect and the hotel is beautiful, but what makes this hotel special is the staff, they are friendly and knowledgeable, if you need a reservation ask for Lulu, she got the best recommendations for dinner and breakfast.

Everything about this place felt luxurious. The staff was incrediblyyyyy helpful, the grounds were breathtaking. If you're looking at other hotels and want the best, this is it. We lounged on our terrace and at the pool and it was in the perfect location. Felt like a dream.

This is one of the most amazing places to stay. The rooms and grounds are beautiful. It must have been a hacienda when it was built hundreds of years ago. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The grounds are very well manicured and a person could spend lots of time just relaxing and enjoying the view.

This is a historic and extremely charming property in a fantastic area of San Miguel. The staff was beyond personable, and it is clear how much they care about their historic property and about the guest experience. Little gem

This was just the most delightful place to stay. It's run with people that have hearts of gold. We had an amazing time. The courtyard is absolutely delightful. The peacocks are wonderful. The people are amazing. The food was great.

The architecture, staff, location and furnishings are all very beautiful. I did find it a little odd that the room I was in opened onto an outdoor dining area. It was strange to go into my room while skirting diners, though it didn't ever seem too busy.

It was our first trip to San Miguel. My wife and I wanted to stay at a place that was "old Mexico." We found the Hotel wonderfully charming. The gardens are beautiful. The Staff was attentive and helpful. We ate breakfast at the hotel. It was great. I travel a great deal. The Room: was quiet, the bed was comfortable, the shower had great water pressure and the room was cool without air conditioning. The hotel is across the street from an entrance to Benito Juarez Park....and added benefit. It was an easy walk up to the town center. We will stay again at the Villa Santa Monica when we return to San Miguel.

The hotel is beautiful,very well maintained, with a lovely garden. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have a romantic atmosphere. The staff was kind and attentive throughout our stay. Unfortunately, after we left, we received a call from the front desk asking whether we had taken the bathrobes from the room. I was surprised, as there were no bathrobes in our room during our stay. I explained this to the person who called and mentioned that the same staff member who had walked us to our room upon arrival and helped us with our departure had shown us everything in the room, and there were definitely no robes. I asked her to look into the matter and clarify it. However, we never heard back. We followed up with another call to request confirmation that the issue had been resolved. The front desk staff said that she was not aware of this issue, but promised to investigate and call us back. Unfortunately, that follow-up never came either. This incident left us with a very uncomfortable impression. It seems the hotel does not have a reliable system for tracking what is present in each room. We stayed two nights, and our room was cleaned once, an ideal opportunity for staff to notice there were no bathrobes, which could have prevented this misunderstanding entirely. Instead of receiving an apology for their error, we were left with silence and no confirmation that the matter had been cleared. Being indirectly accused of taking hotel property was deeply disappointing.
