"What an incredible place! It is right at the most beautiful spot in this very cute French village, at the bridge over the river in the old town. The reception closed at 7pm and we were delayed on the way, so we called. We don't speak French and reception didn't speak English, but somehow we managed to get that we were arriving at 8pm. "This was a very basic hotel but clean and tidy. Room had a decent bathroom, beds and tv but nothing else. Limited check in times and the codes given were confusing and staff struggled with English and sadly my French is really bad. There was a night club in the adjoining car part which boomed out until about 5 am! Not overly noisy but you could not keep your window open. For a cheap hotel it OK and I would consider staying here again."

Would consider using again, but might look for options slight closer to the centre of Montlucon. We were only staying for one night on our way south through France.
