The hotel is being renovated, no lobby and top roof terrace which I did not like! However, the rooms were great and the staff were very friendly!! This made the difference !! We had to go for breakfast to restaurant next door the Bar anxoita and it was an excellent place for having lunch or dinner!! The area is great lot of shops , restaurants, attractions!! I can’t wait to go back to Barcelona and stay at this hotel when the renovation is complete, early next year!! Staff were really friendly!! If you can go to El Nacional, great culinary experience! There four or five places where you can it!!

Love this hotel and we stay her every time we visit

We were really looking forward to staying here to celebrate our anniversary as a family, but unfortunately the experience fell well short of expectations. On arrival, we found the pool closed for the off-season, despite this being a non-negotiable when choosing our hotel. We would certainly have booked elsewhere if we had realised. Our 15-year-old son was unable to use the spa due to its 18+ age restriction. For information to others, the spa incurs an extra charge and requires advance booking. We had booked a suite for 3 and received an upgrade, wine and chocolate which was lovely but there was no bed, pillows or blankets for our son. We were asked for €75 per night for this as he was over 12 and classed as an adult. We challenged this, as the booking was for 3 and eventually the charge was waived. We were also asked for a €750 incidentals deposit, which is incredibly high. Usually it is no more than £150 in other hotels. We negotiated this down to €500. This left such a poor impression that we chose not to spend any additional money at the hotel. Club Class breakfast and snacks were a positive. The hotel was in a very noisy area with traffic noise all night and shouting. Customer service was disappointing. Two of the male staff specifically were dismissive and unhelpful, whereas female staff were much kinder. Overall, the lack of pool, requests for additional payments and restrictive spa age limit ruined a special family holiday. We left feeling disappointed and unwelcome.
