The location was also prime- walking distance to so much, and a quick walk down to the water front. I recommend taking the hop on/hop on bus down the street to explore the rest of Porto. "Nice location!! Very lively!! The staff is very nice and helpful especially Mr Bruno at the check-in desk! A little noise at night due to party goers late. Excellent breakfast and top rate dinner in the restaurant (must try lollipop). Will stay there again if coming back to Porto!!"

"We have just returned from a fabulous 3 night stay in the Guest House Douro and could not have been happier with our decision to stay there. A very unprepossessing exterior gives way to a small gem of a guest house/hotel in an excellent location close to the river front in Ribeira. Our room (402) was comfortable and clean with everything we needed and a gorgeous river view. Rooms in cities do tend to be small but it was not unreasonably so. Breakfast was delicious with an excellent variety of offerings. What really makes this such a delightful place to stay is each and every member of staff, who were all unfailingly helpful and obliging. Shout out particularly to Luiz who was brilliant. If you are going to Porto and like a small bit perfectly formed place to stay you couldn't do better than the Guest House Douro. "

"Room is so small, even by yourself.. I booked deluxe with river view for 2 days , in the picture,looks nice, but in reality it’s NOT! It’s TERRIBLE.. right away,we leave the place, so disappointed!!! I lose almost $400 that I cannot refund.. please be truthful to your customers, upload the reality picture in the internet so the customer will not expect what we have experienced..I booked again,.in holiday Inn that much cheaper & more spacious and comfortable."
