"Greatly underrated room as pictures of room do not reflect actual space. Very small space and bed was in bad shape. Very happy we only stayed one night. View of city helped a lot. "

"The location couldn’t be better — only blocks away from the river and easy access to everywhere we wanted to go. Despite being in a high traffic area, the windows do an amazing job blocking most of the noise. The room was spacious and comfortable. But what really set this place apart was the hotel staff! They went out of their way to help us — from restaurant recommendations to directions, they even helped us coordinate transportation to the train (which doesn’t seem like a big deal, but when you find yourself in the middle of the Festival of Sao Joao at midnight and realize you might still struggle to get an uber a 8am, they helped us pre-book transportation amidst the wild celebrations across the city). "

"Great place to stay right in the center of all activity along the water. Hotel is wonderful and the STAFF IS SUPERB! Pedro gave us a great walking plan for each day and booked us exceptional dinner choices. Thanks much Pedro. The breakfast is first class with a tremendous variety, from eggs and pastries to local ham/cheese and sparkling wine. Special thanks to Hugo…he heard us talking to a neighboring table that it was our anniversary and he brought over a small cake with a candle….and two lovely glasses of port. I guess that’s ok for breakfast in Porto! What a lovely gesture You won’t do much better. Great location, staff and food!"

"It was perfect as it always is - honestly the only downside was a guy called Carlos who works in the restaurant who made me put a tip and then when I gave him a decent tip he started negotiating for a higher tip - tipping is not standard in Portugal or anywhere in Europe and I even gave him a good review on another website after he begged me to. It was a shame then for him to insist I tipped him (fine) and then start bartering with me to give him a higher tip like I’m in a bazaar in Istanbul (not fine). "

"This hotel is perfectly situated in Porto’s historic centre & an ideal base, close to all of the major attractions. The hotel decor is modern, with a nod to the past, and kept spotlessly clean and well maintained. My room was spacious and well equipped, with a lovely buffet breakfast provided in the morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would certainly be very happy to return."
