I thought long and hard abt how i should leave my review, as the hardware and location of the hotel is really good, but service is really non-existence at best.
First of all, the location is good as it is within walking distance to lots of good food and shopping; provided it is not snowing heavily. For late Jan/early Feb, even a 3-4 mins walk to the nearest shopping street can be torturous, esp with luggages. So in winter, it is best to stay in hotels that is directly accesible via underground walkway to covered walking streets like Richmond Hotel. But in spring/summer/autumn, Tokyu Stay Odori is a good choice.
Second, the service. The staff hardly speak any english. This throws me off a bit as i thought a hotel in Sapporo city centre would have staff that could converse in basic english. Simple query like "has my luggage from Asahikawa arrived?" I have to do it via google translate.
On my check out day, i called for a cab myself as the counter staff said he could not help me do so as it was busy due to it being the 1st day of the snow festival. When the cab came (took me just 10 mins to get it via Taxi Go app) i could not bring 3 luggages out all by myself so i left the 2 small ones in the lobby while i bring the big one out. The taxi driver kindly took over as i ran back to get the remaining luggage. All these while, 4 male staff in the lobby looked on, they were not serving anyone and definitely not offering me any help. This is the worst i have ever experienced.
