"The hotel was very comfortable and clean, and the hosts were very friendly and polite. They accommodated our every need. There was a wonderful balcony and small garden, where we could enjoy Mount Fuji and relax while enjoying a cup of coffee. The room also had a separate washing machine with dryer, which saved us the trouble of having to go elsewhere for laundry. We stayed for three days, and my family, especially the children, thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel. While the hotel is a bit...

"incredible stay - a highlight of our trip! Everything was very clean and looked brand new - the view of Mount Fuji from the bed was amazing. I loved that there was a fully equipped kitchen and you could use the stocked food/wine/coffee for a small fee, it meant we didn't have to leave! Recommending this place to all of my friends :) "

"Loved the space. Lots of small details included, facilities were fantastic, great sleep and brilliant view of Fuji. Loved that it was walking distance to the lake too."

"Wonderful location for amazing view of Fuji. The grounds are well maintained and Onsen is excellent too. We ate both nights in the hotel and had a superb meal. Regular shuttles to the town centre which finishes at 19.30. recommend if you don't want to be in Kawaguchiko which to be honest is busy and tacky."
"Excellent location, has a free shuttle to different places and train stations in kawaguchiko and it is next to the bus stop connecting to other cities like tokyo. Great restaurants and has nice view of Mt Fuji"
"Clean, big room, VERY helpful staff, wonderfull onsen/hot bath, excellent wifi. They communicated really badly before checking.
I really like the reception staff.
Bathroom tiny but this is a common trend in Japan"
"We had an unforgettable stay at this beautifully designed lakeside ryokan. Every detail of the space reflects refined Japanese aesthetics—elegant, understated, and incredibly calming. The setting by the lake is simply stunning, with serene views that change throughout the day and create a truly peaceful atmosphere.
What made the experience even more special was the exceptional staff. Their hospitality was warm, attentive, and thoughtful without ever feeling intrusive. Every interaction felt genuine, and they went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable.
From the tranquil surroundings to the impeccable service, this ryokan offers a perfect balance of natural beauty and traditional charm. We left feeling completely relaxed and would absolutely love to return."
"I booked two twin rooms. One room was lovely with a beautiful view over the lake. The other room was like being in a closet! It had one tiny window and was old and tired and was situated at the back of the hotel. I complained but was told the hotel was fully booked. Although when I offered to pay more suddenly a room became available! Disappointing! "
"We stayed at Hotel My.Fuji for one night and had a pleasant overall experience, but it comes with a few important caveats.
What worked well:
The value for the price is strong, especially given the incredible views of Mt. Fuji. Waking up to that alone made the stay feel special. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast is on the pricier side, but the selection is generous and worth it if you plan to stay on-site. The staff were also genuinely warm and helpful throughout.
What to be aware of:
The hotel itself feels quite dated, and the bathroom in particular could use a refresh as it felt a bit worn and not as clean as expected. The biggest drawback, though, is the shuttle service. There’s no clear timetable available online, the schedule is limited, and you must reserve in advance. This made it difficult to plan our departure, especially when we wanted to leave early for a bus to Kyoto but couldn’t because the first shuttle wasn’t until around 8:45 AM.
Overall:
With some updates and a more flexible, clearly communicated shuttle schedule, this could be a great stay. As it stands, it’s best suited for those planning to relax at the hotel rather than come and go frequently."
