"This is an excellent choice for seeing Saumur. It is in an old building with a lot of character. My room was large, with wooden beamed ceiling, tall windows that opened, and a limestone fireplace I wish I had in my home. Ensuite had shower and had plenty of space. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and quite helpful. The hotel is part of a very large restaurant with good food and good service. "Charming hotel in a unique position with excellent access to the main square for dining and shopping. The bar and breakfast room are lovely. Staff all friendly and also helpful when necessary eg our kettle didn’t work. (Quickly replaced). Our bathroom sliding door seemed to be missing a handle but forgot to mention as it did have a recessed finger pull. Saumur was an amazing place and we really enjoyed our short stay on the way back to Caen to catch the ferry home. Will return at some point as soon as much to see."
