"A very beautiful and unique property. You definitely feel like you're in a fun experience here. It's built into the side of a cliff. We did have a teeny bit of trouble finding it as the property is behind a walls and a gate and so all of the pictures I have seen online you cannot see from the street, which could be difficult later at night, but when you get up to the blue gates you can see the name on the bell and buzz the owner and she's great about getting you in and showing you around. "Quick one night stop over on route from UK via Cherbourg to Dordogne. 2 adults 3 young kids. We booked the wooden Summerhouse/Chalet because it was more fun for the kids. We got exactly what we booked, perfect. Our host was very friendly and helpful given our poor spoken French. Woke up with the song from the birds in the woods. Breakfast was perfect, great coffee, freshly baked bread, home made jams, apricots, yoghurts and pain au chocolat."

"Clean, air conditioned room, comfortable bed, good shower. Only one bedside table, no drawers or hanging space. The bar and restaurant had been very nicely refurbished. We sat outside for evening meal, garden bit overgrown and meal felt rushed but food was good. Breakfast was basic, just croissant, coffee, juice and bread. Good location for exploring the area."

"We spent a very pleasant evening at Chateau de Pintray. The owner, Anne, is delightful and kindly booked dinner for us in an excellent restaurant nearby. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was substantial and delicious. Highly recommended, and if we visit this part of France again we would certainly stay here again."

"Chez Charitha is a lovely B & B in the centre of the pretty little town of Azay-le-Rideau, a couple of minutes’ walk from the chateau (well worth a visit). Charitha himself is the perfect host: welcoming, helpful and very generous. He greeted us with drinks and snacks (every welcome after a long drive), and gave us lots of helpful tips on restaurants, parking and places to visit. "Awful. It felt like a homeless person place. No AC, No Hairdryer, Shower head has to be held to be used, Dirty floors with circular burns in carpet, no toiletries or towels, no AC in fitness center, very sketchy area, dirty refrigerator, no coffee, very late checkin and very early checkout. Worst place I have EVER stayed. "
