"We had a great stay here. The views are simply amazing and the pool area is lovely to pass a relaxing few hours. We thoroughly recommend staying at Villa La Ventana for a wonderful place to explore both the Amalfi coast and Sorrento peninsula. You need a car to make the most of the location but well worth being away from the main tourist hustle & bustle. A friendly welcome on arrival and throughout our stay at this family-owned establishment from the three brothers who between them offer...

"This was a perfect location for people who don’t want to stay in the touristy parts of Amalfi. It is only a bus ride away from Positano & Amalfi. The room was very clean and big, with ac & tv. Our room had a beautiful view of the sea and a private terrace. There was a heated pool and hot tub that was rarely used so we had it to ourselves. Each morning, a lovely breakfast buffet was prepared for us that was included with our stay. The staff was very helpful. When arriving, they met us with a car...

"Room was comfortable, and clean .,The breakfast was good and the location was good. Very close to the train station. Staff were friendly and helpful. "
"Property is beautiful! Staff is friendly! View is spectacular. Great escape from the crazy town.
Lights in BR not working and we asked to fix and they never did. The bed was very uncomfortable and the sheets were not soft at all. The front desk said they could bring a pad but never did and never followed up either.
We paid for the “ Premium” room and you only get 2 waters with the room and no ice! A glass of ice is $5 . The bar was even instructed to not give it out without paying . If someone pays almost $500 per night I don’t expect to pay for a cup of ice.
The staff in dining room and the van drivers were super nice and friendly and helpful.
Overall beautiful hotel but needs to work on service and amenities for the price they charge. Not the service for what they charge."
"Our stay at the Grand Hotel Europa Palace in Sorrento was fantastic. The location is ideal—just steps from the center of town and about a five-minute walk to the train and bus station. The ferry is a bit farther and requires going down to the base of the cliff, but there’s a lift near the marina that makes it much easier.
What truly sets this hotel apart is the staff. Everyone—from the front desk to the porters to housekeeping—was incredibly kind and welcoming. A special thank you to Lucchia, one of the room attendants, who was especially lovely. The breakfast team was also excellent, including the gentleman in the white tux, the woman and two younger staff members, and the omelette chef. One of the front desk staff even told us she would miss us when we left, which says it all.
The views are stunning—overlooking the Gulf of Naples with Mount Vesuvius in the distance. Having a drink at the bar with that view was unforgettable.
The pool requires several staircases to reach, and the water was quite cold during our stay. The sea was also very cold, and windy conditions made swimming difficult at times.
We visited Positano and Amalfi, but Sorrento was our favorite—great vibe, shopping, and restaurants. The Grand Hotel Europa Palace sits right in the middle of it all. You come for the views, but the staff make it feel like home. We can’t wait to return."
"Wonderful hotel with an excellent view of the sea. The staff was exceptional and the breakfast was excellent. I would highly recommend staying here and will be back when in the area. The location was very walkable and close to catch a ferry, the trail of the lemons, restaurants, and the beach was right outside the hotel."
"The hotel, and the rooms were very clean and in great conditon. They had great amenities too. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Breakfast is excellent, lots of choices like eggs, yougurt, ham, cheese and many different cakes. It is also walking distance to Sorrento and lots of restaurants.
The only con is that the beds were really hard. Other than that it's excellent. "
"The hotel is impeccable. The room was clean and spacious. No complaints about the property. However, is important to consider that is up in one of the hills. You can walk down to the town but it’s hard to climb back up. There is no sidewalk and the road is busy with buses, cars, motorcycles, etc. That is Amalfi so do your research. Breakfast was bread, cold cuts, yogurts and coffee. They had hard boiled eggs too. They said they are not allowed to cook. So be prepared for that. There are a few restaurants walking distance but they close from 3pm-7pm. That is Amalfi and Italy for you. The owners are polite except for the most senior guy. We saw him slap a guest in the hand for trying to make a sandwich and putting it in the toaster oven. I got yelled at for accidentally taking a banana out of the breakfast area. The other guys who I assume are his sons were polite and helpful but be careful with that older guy."
