Clean spacious room with a great view of the beach, sea and castle. Walking to the busy front is about 30/40 mins if via the coast walk or 10/15 minutes if via steep walk through the streets at the rear of the hotel. Friendly helpful staff, a staff member actually ran out of the hotel to put our parking permit in the car to thwart a zealous traffic warden. A decent buffet breakfast with cereal, fruit,toast or cooked full English available. Would stay here again.

As a last minute one night booking for a budget double room we were satisfied with the accommodation. The room although dated and a little shabby (curtains and paintwork) was clean and comfortable. Location was good and the staff that we saw were friendly and helpful. We had a fabulous sea view which we did not expect with a budget room. We would stay here again for an odd night or two.

Great stay

We stayed at the Delmont whist visiting Scarborough. The we stayed in a budget double room Room was clean tidy , bed comfy and bedding really soft. Fit for purpose. Staff friendly and approachable and a well stocked bar with reasonable priced drinks. The location is great with a 5 minute walk into the centre beach across the road and 15 minute walk to the open air theatre. Our only negative was we felt the breakfast was overpriced for what was offered. But over all great stay will definitely be back !

Tiffany receptionist was exceptional. Friendly. Remembered details about us, thoughtful, loaned us a brolly. Room was budget standard, as we expected. Maybe replace light tube over dressing table mirror or remove light fitting? Table in lounge sticky with spilt sugar.

Delmont hotel

We had a great nights stay at the Delmont Hotel, staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfast was great. The only gripe i have is the shower cubicle was not made for someone who is 6 ft 2.

Lovely stay at last minute. Room we had appeared to have been refurbished recently and nice to stay. Only thing was no cups in room for tea making facilities and probably could do with changing the mattresses as feeling a bit old. But would stay again. Loved the old style lift as well.

If your using the hotel for the location to the open air theatre it's good walking distance and some lovely views over the sea however unless your amazing at parallel parking and have a tiny car then you'll struggle. The hotel is very dated the bed may as well have been a camp bed on the floor as the mattress was none existent and the room was red hot with no way of cooling it down. The shower was a trickle of water and took ages to get warm.

Nice stay except for noise downstairs

Nice location with views of bay and castle. Room is a little old and shabby but generally clean and comfortable. Nightly entertainment was very loud in my room from 8:30-11. When I raised it with staff they said they’d try to move me. I didn’t get round to following up on it. If they’re going to play music directly under guests’ rooms they need proper sound proofing. People expect peace and quiet.

1 night was enough!

First off the pros - It is dog friendly which was our main need as we were bringning our 2 old girls with us so it ticked that box. Location was fine too to get to the town centre or the North Bay amenities. Now the bad bits - Got into the room at 3pm and the central heating was on full blast and the room was absolutely baking hot butr went off later in the afternoon and was not on again even through the night or in the morning, surely that should be the other way round?. The bed was obviously really cheap as it was very low to the ground and as soon as i sat on it the slats gave way as the wafer thin mattress could not hold weight, i'm not the smallest of blokes but i would expect a bed to be of a certain standard in a hotel, i reported it and to be fair it was fixed by the time i returned although i didn't chance it and only got on when i was literally falling asleep and tried my hardest not to move, i even put 2 spare pillows under the mattress for extra support. There were scratches all over the paintwork and furniture, the toilet felt like it was going to fall through the floor or crumble, there was what seemed to be a random piece of plastic attaching it to the wall, the basin chipped, the taps were rusty, the hot water was tepid at best including the shower, the carpets were stained, the floor was creaky and uneven and to top it off we had a bag go missing from our room despite staff knowing nothing about it. Clearly there is no care in this place, won't be returning.
