"Lovely traditional hotel. Receptionist was extremely efficient and friendly. Room was as expected, clean but a little tired in places owing to the age of the building. Lovely fluffy white towels. Breakfast Was excellent with a range to suit all dietary requirements. Would I stay here again ? Yes ! "

"Hotel was in a great location close to main routes to Darlington and Middlesbrough. It was also close to Teeside Park which has an array of shops, a cinema and lots of eating options. The hotel was modern and clean with a good gym, check in was seamless and the staff were polite and helpful. I would definitely stay there again! "

"Second stay at the Golden Fleece. Ideal location with free/ secure parking. Staff are friendly. Only criticism is that the rooms are starting to get a little tired."

"Great hotel, nice clean room, a bit on the small side but more than adequate for a 1 night stay. Breakfast was quite nice with a decent selection of food. Staff were pleasant although I did have to ask twice for a receipt for a coffee I bought from the bar. The server inadvertently put the receipt in the till and went on to serve someone else."

"Front door lock needs some attention on outside room (233) Radiator/heater couldn't switch off. Knob was balanced on the on/off valve so was a known issue. No offer of another room The breakfast 'display' is dismal! The continental section is not even worth the effort. No pride. No music in the breakfast room 4/10. Bit of a joke"
